Baden - On June 21, 2021, Henry ("Hank") J. Labik shed his mortal coils for eternal life following an acute fall suffered in the home he shared with his wife of fifty years, Deborah (Deb Rhodes) Labik to whom he was devoted.
Although he is gone temporarily from our sight, there is no doubt that though he died yet their love is true and they will be reunited. This loss has scarred the heart of his daughter, Courtney (Labik) Barthelemy, who held her Daddy up as the measure of what every man in her life thereafter should hope to be.
He is also survived by his son-in-law, Ray Barthelemy, and two cherished grandchildren, Brett and Honour Barthelemy, about whom he would speak lovingly to whomever would listen.
Hank was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley Labik, Sr. and Leona Labik, in addition to his brother Stanley "Butch" Labik, Jr. and Sister Mary Evelyn Labik. Hank also loved his in-laws whom he is certainly reunited with, Howard and Mildred Rhodes, and is survived by his brother- and sister-in law, Bob and Nancy Rhodes and their family.
Hank was proud to call himself a Vietnam Veteran and we are indebted for his service to our great country. In light of the great love he had for dogs generally, and the ones who graced his rich life, the family would encourage opening your home to a rescue animal or support your local animal charity.
Hank certainly exemplified Ephesians 5, verses 25 and Chapter 28: "Husband, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church and gave himself for it; So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies."
Friends will be received Wednesday from 10 AM until the time of service at 12 PM in the Corless-Matter Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1133 Church Street Ambridge, PA 15003, www.corlessmatterfuneralhome.com, where full military honors will be held.
Interment will follow at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
