Margaret Martin Obituary
Chippewa Township - Margaret Mary (Kurtz) Martin, 91, of Chippewa Twp., formerly of Brighton Heights (Pittsburgh), passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at her residence, surrounded by members of her family.
Born November 22, 1929 in Hastings, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Kovach) Kurtz, both of whom had immigrated from Hungary. She was a member of St. Monica's Roman Catholic Church. Margaret had a beautiful smile, enjoyed being with her family and was always active and eager to go out and shop, go to movies or participate in other activities. As a housewife and mother, Margaret loved to cook, bake, work in her flower garden and play cards. She especially enjoyed reading to and being with her grandchildren and more recently, watching videos of her great grandchildren. She loved animals and watching birds.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Martin, Jr., a retired Lieutenant for the Pittsburgh Firefighters; and ten brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Margaret (Richard) Swain, Rosemary Nolan, Jo-Ann (Glen) Adams, Suzan (Regis) Senko and Mary (Thomas) Hartley; six grandchildren, Leora (Keith) Geyer, Thomas (Dana) Hartley, Sarah Senko, Christine (Chase) Landon, Jenny Rose (Dan Guy) Senko, and Suzanne (Michael) Beveridge; and six great-grandchildren, Colton, Cali, Thomas, Olivia, Saoirse, and Illyana. She was anxiously awaiting the birth of her seventh great -grandchild, Baby Boy Beveridge, in April 2021. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to attend Margaret's mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 10am at St. Monica's-116 Thorndale Drive, Beaver Falls PA 15010. Father Kim Schreck will officiate.
Private entombment will take place in Christ our Redeemer Catholic Mausoleum.
The family requests that contributions be made in Margaret's name to the Women's Center of Beaver County- 190 Third Street, Beaver PA 15009.
The family also wishes to thank Dr. Timothy Jackson, Dr. William Ferri, Dr. Kenneth House, Advanced Home Heath and Kindred Hospice.
