I was 10 years old in 1974. Brother Bartlett and Linda had a baby son named Scott at our church. Central Baptist Church in Euless, Texas. Brother Bartlett taught me how to sight read using the Shape notes in Junior Choir. I became a Music Minister because of Him. I will never be able to repay the debt I owe to Him and Sister Linda for their sacrifice and faithful service. God bless his memory. I am a debtor!

Linda, I just saw this and am completely taken aback. Charles and you were the first people to believe in my gift and Charles was the best man a little fat girl could look up to. I still remember the words to the song that he taught me to sing at Bible Baptist Church all those long years ago. He set a course for me to follow and I would have NEVER done it with out him. He was a huge chunk of my courage to perform my gift. Thank you for sharing him with me and all of the other songbirds he inspired. I will be praying for your family to heal and carry on as best you can. Love Y'all!!!

I had the privilege of meeting Bro. Bartlett when my students and I shared a cabin with he and his students at the A.C.E. Junior Convention. The following year when they announced we would be sharing a cabin again, I couldn't have been happier about the assignment. He is such a friendly, kind, considerate, godly man. My thoughts and prayers are with the Bartlett family.

I'm so sorry for to hear about Bro. Bartlett. It was wonderful to see him and Linda earlier this year. Charles was one of my favorites at Bible Baptist Christian School. I'll never forget how he would tell us to give our lives for that Volleyball before we let it hit the ground. Most of all he wanted everyone to give their lives to Jesus. At school he would not only guide us in our academic education, he also guided us in living out our faith in Jesus. I know he was met at the gates of heaven with the words, "Well done my good and faithful servant."

We always appreciated Pastor Charles and his sermons. He made you feel welcome, relaxed, part of the family and had a great sense of humor. Never once did we fall asleep in any of his sermons! He was kind hearted and loved his congregation. He helped lead so many others to where he is now. What is more rewarding than that? We will miss him tremendously and will always value the life lessons that he taught us. Although he is gone from this earth and is at peace now, it will still leave a void in so many hearts. Prayers of comfort to Linda and the kids. What a blessing he was to this world! As Charles would often say.... "Have i told you lately that the tomb is still empty?" Until we meet again Pastor Charles!!!

Forever grateful to this man. He led my husband and son to the Lord and baptized all three of us! He has been the rock that we have needed so many times. I know that he is singing Victory in Jesus with his grandfather in the heavenly choir! Love him so much.

Charles and I used to play "Cisco Kid and Poncho" in City View school's playground. Mrs. Allred (the former First Lady of Texas) would frequently ask Charles to sing in our music theory class. The boy could sing the wings off of a Mockingbird. He was a devout Christian since I first knew him. We lost touch in high school but, I'm positive Charles never veered from the path he chose in life.

Pastor Bartlett was a huge part of my life growing up. He taught me many things and was one of the wisest men I ever had the privilege of knowing. Now that I am grown I think a lot about the messages he taught us all and I remember him going with us to church camp. The world lost an amazing Godly man.
