David Ditto Obituary

David V. Ditto 1933-2015
81, of Dennison, passed away Nov. 5, 2015, at his home, after a short illness. Born Nov. 12, 1933 in New Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Eddie Herbert and Jennie Mae (Crabtree) Ditto. On Sept. 19, 1970, he married the former Carol J. Metcalf with whom he celebrated 45 years of loving marriage. A 1951 graduate of New Philadelphia High School, David served in the United States Air Force and the Air National Guard. He retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation. He was a life member of New Philadelphia B.P.O.E. #510, and a member of the AIC and Eagles in Dennison, as well as a member of New Philadelphia Masonic Lodge #177 and Eastern Star of Carroll County Orange Chapter #302.
David is survived by his daughters, Dee (Patrick) Beckley and Michele (Jim) Ankeny; grandchildren, Shea (Mindy) Burdette II, Seth (Kiley) Burdette, Laynee (Shane Dorland) Burdette, and Ashley and Kayla Beckley; seven great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sharon Quillen, Daryl and Barb Metcalf, Delores and Charles Stotler, and Jean Butler Metcalf; nephews and nieces, Glenn (Carol) and Gene (Diane) Medley, Ed (Carol Kay), Frank, Wesley, William, Cheryl, Ruth and Pat (Darla) Ditto, and Doreen (Greg) Draher; cousins, Mona Scopilliti, Chris Scopilliti, Delbert and Jim (Diane) Stewart, Caroline Cook and family, and Rick Crabtree and family; and many other extended family members. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Ed, Herbert and William Ditto; sister, Margaret Medley; nephew, Robert Ditto; and brother-in-law, Rodney "Punch" Metcalf.
Pastor Scot Caley will officiate an 11 a.m. funeral on Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015, at the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow in Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home with a 6:45 p.m. Masonic Memorial Service. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice.

Carol, so sorry for your loss.He had a long happy life with you and your great memories will always be with you.Now he can see his sister Margaret again whom loved him very much. I know this because she fondly spoke of him often. Praying God heals the hole in your heart, knowing he is holding Dave in his arms and welcomes him home.
