Mahlon Mullet Obituary

Mahlon M. Mullet
91, of 9570 Golf Course Rd. Sugarcreek, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on April 28, 2011 at 9:50 p.m. Born Nov. 16, 1919 in Tuscarawas County he was a son of the late Ervin J. and Mattie (Schlabach) Mullet. He was employed at the Belden Brick Co. at Sugarcreek then retired from Syl Hostetler Homes after 30 years. Mahlon was ordained as a minister in Sharon Mennonite Church at Sugarcreek in 1969 and served the church for 16 years. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family and friends.
Left behind are his wife of 63 years, Mattie (Miller) Mullet; five children, Dale (Ruth) Mullet of Sugarcreek, Richard (Sheryl) Mullet of Nashwak, MN., Myron (Judy) Mullet of Abbeville, S.C., Naomi (Daniel "Trapper") Troyer of Benton and Thomas (Mellissa) Mullet of Sugarcreek; 21 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; sisters, Anna (Henry) Troyer of Strasburg, Minerva (Alvin) Troyer of Sugarcreek and Sarah (Joni) Troyer of Sugarcreek; step brothers and sisters, Clarence Yoder of Sugarcreek, Ray Yoder of Mt. Eaton, Sarah Troyer of Sugarcreek and Clara Yoder of Sugarcreek. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Jonas Mullet; two sisters, Mary Hershberger and Clara Barkman and step brothers, Henry and Joas Yoder.
Funeral services will be held Sunday May 1, 2011 at 2 p.m. in Sharon Conservative Mennonite Church at Sugarcreek. Rev. Clarence Yoder and Rev. Ed Yoder will officiate and burial will follow in Union Hill Cemetery at Sugarcreek. Friends may call Saturday from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Church. Smith-Varns Funeral Home in Sugarcreek is handling the arrangements. Memorials may be made to Community Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 W. Third Street, Dover, Ohio 44622. For those unable to attend please visit the funeral home's web site to share a memory and sign the guest register.

To Dale and family I will be praying for you in this sorrowful time. That God will be ever present in your lives as we go through these sorrowful times God is good and knows what he is doing even when it hurts hold fast to him my dad and mother and my wife and your father are now with the Lord they beat us there. The Apostle Paul said for me to live is Christ to die is gain. We keep pressing on to the mark the call of Christ Jesus. Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel.
