Nicholas Hunter Obituary
Nick was born Dec. 11, 1977, in Dover, the son of Michelle Hunter of Dover and Steven Sherrell of Dennison.
Nick was a 1996 graduate of Dover High School where he was an athletic standout having played football, baseball, and wrestling. He was also in the Multicultural Awareness Committee at Dover High School. He enjoyed coaching Pee Wee football and was also a football referee. He previously attended Kent State Tuscarawas. He is probably best known for his love of people and enjoyed interacting with everyone he would meet. He attended the First Baptist Church in Dover.
In addition to his parents, Nick is survived by his daughter, Torie M. Hunter; a brother, Steven Allen Sherrell of Uhrichsville; his maternal grandmother, Charlene Hunter of Dover, and his paternal grandmother, Marjorie Sherrell of Dennison; his uncles, Reggie (Bernice) Hunter of California, Monty Hunter of New Jersey, Monte Sherrell of Bolivar and Mitchell Sherrell of Akron; he is also survived by his special friend and the mother of his daughter, Tasha Hickman, along with many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Orie Hunter and Roosevelt Sherrell.
A celebration of Nick's life will be held Friday, July 3, 2009, at 11 a.m. in the First Baptist Church in Dover with Pastor Christopher Lowery officiating. Cremation will follow the services. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. Those who cannot attend or who may wish to express a fond memory of Nick may sign the online register book by visiting the obituaries link on the funeral home Web site.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Nicholas Hunter Memorial Fund in care of any Dover-Phila Federal Credit Union to provide for the future of his daughter, Torie.

My deepest condolences to Nick's family. Nick was one of the best. He always had a big smile, a big hug to give you, and could always make you laugh. He will be missed everyday. Nick always had a smile and something nice to say whenever I saw him. He was one of the friendliest, most well-liked people I've ever met. Our community was so lucky to have him as a part of it, and he will truly be missed. My heart goes out to his family and friends.
