Paul F. Webb

AGE: 81 •

Paul F. Webb, age 81, was reunited with his wife and love of his life Kathleen S. Webb on April 29, 2014. He was born on July 6, 1932 in Wilmington, DE to Francis A. Webb and Marion Connor Webb. Paul and Kathleen shared 57 years of marriage together.

He attended St. Ann's Grade School and Wilmington High School. Paul proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a Hospital Corpsman on the aircraft carrier USS Franklin D. Roosevelt from 1951-1956. He later served in the Marine Corps. He retired from Texaco oil refinery in Delaware City after 30 years of service in 1988.

Paul was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes parish, Seaford, DE where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Paul loved listening to Irish and religious music. He enjoyed Notre Dame Football and the Phillies as well as playing golf, horseshoes, chess and pinochle. He was proud of his Irish heritage, traveling to Ireland twice. He and Kathleen enjoyed wintering in Florida. He had a great love for the Rockford Tower, Brandywine River, and Trap Pond.

Paul is survived by his children, Mary Ann Cunningham (John), Eileen Webb Myers (Bill), Kevin Webb, Paul Webb (Liway) and Kathleen Paulino (William); grandchildren Brian, Leslie, Hope, Danielle, Dustin, Kasey, Erin, Robert, Arielle, Dea, William, Ashley, Michael, Katie and Elijah; 10 great-grandchildren; cousins Larry, Jack, and Jim Connor, and Marion Breustle, who were like his siblings; brothers-in-law Marvin (Joyce), William and Dennis Redmond; sisters-in-law Margaret Long (James) and Doris Webb. Paul was predeceased by his wife Kathleen, daughter Margaret Heverin, parents Francis and Marion Webb, brothers Jack and Francis Webb and sisters Marjorie McKay and Adelaide Weber.

Visitation will be held from 5:30-7:30pm on Sunday, May 4, 2014 at Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek, Wilmington. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00am at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 7200 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, DE on Monday, May 5, 2014. Interment will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Ashland, DE.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Nativity Prep, 1515 Linden St., Wilmington, DE 19805 or Serviam Girls Academy, 14 Halcyon Drive, New Castle, DE 19720.

The family wishes to thank all the staff of Cadia Silverside (as well as his newfound friends there), 3-E ICU, 5D, Christiana Care and Wilmington Hospital ER, and Seasons Hospice for their support and gentle loving care.

Our heart felt sympathy for the family. I feel bad about not seeing Paul much in recent years but I will really miss him. Nothing but great memories of long nights talking thru the work shift learning about life's lessons, love, kids, unions, and even God. We love you Paul, be at rest.
