Audrey DeRosa Obituary

Audrey E. DeRosa 1930 - 2019
MOHAWK - Mrs. Audrey E. "Peach" DeRosa, age 88, a longtime resident of Mohawk, NY, passed away, peacefully with family at her side, early Friday afternoon, January 11, 2019, at Valley Health Services.
Born in Louisville, Kentucky, May 14, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Berling) Anneken. She was united in marriage with John A. DeRosa on September 30, 1950, at St. John's Church in Covington, Kentucky. Mr. DeRosa passed away on Sunday morning, August 18, 2002.
Audrey worked with Duofold in Mohawk/Ilion, for many years, as a seamstress. She was of the Catholic faith. She loved to sew and excelled at it. She and her husband, John, took great pride in their gardening through the years, particularly in the meticulous tending to and nurturing roses. Audrey prepared delicious meals and was devoted to her granddaughter and great-grandchildren.
We fondly remember her as a true "Southern Belle Lady". She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her sons, John S. "Chuck" DeRosa and wife, Bonnie, of Mohawk, David K. DeRosa, of Schenectady, NY and Timothy J. DeRosa and his significant other, Jody Phillips, of Mohawk; her granddaughter, Sara Jones and husband, Greg, of Ilion; two special great-granddaughters, Sydney Rose Jones and Skyler Rae Jones; her sisters, Aurelia Anneken Fitzpatrick and Delores Anneken Landwehr; her brothers, Walter Anneken (Mary) and Raymond Anneken (Dorothy); a brother-in-law, Howard Stratman; her special niece, Maryanne Terzi; Steven's beloved Molly Bruce-Johnson and children, Brady and Emma; her dear friend, Lil Gaherty; good neighbors, Ted and Sharron Brebeck; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband, John, in 2002; and most recently, her beloved son, Steven A. "Geeber" DeRosa, on September 22, 2018; siblings, Edgar Anneken, Norbert Anneken, Alvin Anneken, Mary Anneken Popp, Rosella Anneken, Ester Anneken, Joan Anneken Stratman, Joseph Anneken, Helen Anneken Hebbeler and Anna Anneken Brady.
Funeral services for family and close friends will privately be held on Friday morning, January 18, 2019, at The Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 North Washington Street, Herkimer, NY, with Father Mark Cunningham, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Town of Herkimer. This will all take place in due respect of Audrey's wishes and there are no public calling hours.
Memorial contributions are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
A heartfelt thank you to the staff of Valley Health Services for the kindness and compassion they showed Peach while she was a resident there.
Arrangements are with Harry & Kevin Enea and Martin Ciaccia, 315-866-1011.

I am so sorry to read of Peach's passing. My Mom worked with her at Dufold for many years which is how I met her.

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.
