To Mrs. Chandler, and the family:
You MUST know how much Mr. Chandler is going to be missed. My children and I were devastated when we had to come to the realization that we weren't going to hear anymore Daddyisms from him. I grew up with Mr. Chandler and his wonderful knowledge and grew into a woman who appreciated and liked to hear the daddyisms. Now my children have had the opportunity to grow with daddyisms too. Thank you all for sharing him with our community and I will miss him because of his wonderful smile among many things but I'm not sad because I have Mr. Chandler deep in my heart and the thought of him makes me smile.

We love you all,
Cherie, little Zola, Craven and the babies

To Mrs. Chandler and Family,

We want to extend our deepest sympathy to you and your family.

It has been our pleasure to know you and your wonderful husband and family. Because we have no family here in Albany, our Church members are our family. Mr. Chandler, "Papa Staples", as we affectionately called him was the first one to greet us warmly each Sunday with a hug and a smile.

His legacy of love and warmth lives on in your children. They show the same warmth and affection to those they meet and come to know.

Mr. Chandler will surely be missed. Our prayers go out to you and your family in this difficult time.

"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will rest for your souls. "For My yoke is easy and My burden is light." Matthew 11:28

May the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ give you comfort, peace and rest for your souls during this difficult time.

TO: Mrs. Chandler and the entire family. When I read that Mr. Chandler had gone from labor to reward my heart was indeed sadden. I know that you all will miss him dearly. The Apostle Paul said "to die is gain..." but the thought of not being greeted with that fatherly smile, warm hand shake, and hearing him tell me how glad he was to see me again is what I will miss. I am praying that God grant you His Peace and comfort during this difficult time. In His Word He promised never to leave you never to leave you alone. I want to thank you for sharing Mr. Chandler with me. I will never forget him and will always thank God that I had the opportunity to be in his company.
My Deepest Sympathy.

Mr. Chandler; I thank God for making you the wonderful man that I had the honor to know. My only regret is that I didn't know you longer. I have heard such wonderful, funny and loving "remember when" stories about you through the years. I thank you for the life long memories that you gave to John, and the rest of our family, they bring a sense of peace and a smile to everyone.
Thank you, doesn't even begin to express the heartfelt gratitude I have for you as a person and for all that you have done for me during the time I have known you. Coming to church won't ever be the same without you standing at the door. I will forever miss your smile, your laugh, my "Chandler Hug", our little chats, and your words of, whatever I needed at that moment be it, wisdom, humor, compassion, comfort or Fatherly love for one of his children.
Mrs. Chandler, I pray for you everyday. You have a life of memories and an amazingly beautiful family together, be proud, it is well deserved.
To all of my Chandler sisters, I know the pride, love and devotion that you hold for your Daddy, wrap yourself in that and forver feel his love.
I know in my heart that when he returned to Glory, our Heavenly Father said to him, "Well done my good and faithful servant, it is time for you to rest. Welcome home I have missed so.
I will love and miss you as if you were my father, because you loved me as if I was your daughter.
The world is a far better place because of you.
I love you all!

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
