MECHANICVILLE - Aminda Ann DeVito, 93, of County Route 75, died peacefully, at Samaritan Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, on June 16, 2025, after a brief illness. Born on June 30, 1931, daughter of the late Alphonse and Mary Paolino Miranda, she was a 1948 graduate of Mechanicville High School.
Aminda worked as a secretary for both General Electric Schenectady and Theodore LaVigna Insurance, during her 25 year work career, retiring in 1992. She, and husband Peter, took advantage of retirement and enjoyed many vacations together, with their family, and with friends. She loved to read and was a devoted bocce player. She was a talented knitter and crocheter who enjoyed sharing her creations with family and friends. A lifelong member of the Assumption-St. Paul/All Saints on the Hudson Parish, she was a longtime member of its Rosary Altar Society, and of the Sacred Heart.
She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Peter F. DeVito; and her sister, Teresa Kingsley.
Survivors include her son, Peter M. and wife, Susan DeVito of Waterford; daughter, Marianne and husband, Brian Hurysz of Halfmoon; grandchildren, Thomas and Brianna Hurysz, Nicole DeVito-Dellarocca; a great-grandson, Henry DeVito-Dellarocco; and many loving nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 20, at 10:30 a.m., at All Saints on the Hudson Church, 121 N Main St., Mechanicville, with burial to follow. at St. Paul's Cemetery.
Calling hours at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville, on Thursday, from 4 to 6 p.m.
