Bernard Rahill Obituary

Rahill, Bernard T. QUEENSBURY Bernard T. Rahill, 64, passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at home. Born on February 11, 1943 in New York, N.Y., he was the son of Cornelius and Mary Kate (Smyth) Rahill of County Cavan, Ireland. Bernard received a bachelor of arts from St. Francis College in Brooklyn, N.Y. and a master's degree from New York University. Additionally, he studied at the Catholic University in Santiago, Chile as a Fulbright Scholar. He was a foreign language teacher for many years, most recently at Mt. McGregor Correctional Facility. He was very active with Our Lady of the Annunciation Church serving as a lector, usher, Eucharistic minister and a member of the parish council. His passions in life were reading and writing. He was a devoted husband and father. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Agnes Rahill of Queensbury; his children, Mary Kate Young and her husband Scott of Delmar, Bernard E. Rahill and his wife Jeanette of Los Angeles, Calif. and Neil Rahill of Queensbury; and his grandchildren, Ian Young, Aidan Rahill and Darcy Young. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 1, 2007 at Our Lady of the Annunciation, Aviation Road, Queensbury, N.Y. Burial will follow in Pine View Cemetery. Family and friends are invited and may call from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 30, 2007 at Regan & Denny Funeral Home, 53 Quaker Road, Queensbury.
