Bernard Socha Obituary

Socha, Bernard Louis NISKAYUNA Bernard Louis Socha passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on April 30, 2015. Bernard "Ben" was the son of the late Louis and Mary Socha and spent 79 of his 88 years in his family home on Lomasney Avenue. He was predeceased by his sisters, Genevieve and Harriet, and brothers, Fred and Walter. Ben is survived by his wife, Mary; his children, Bernie, Bernadette, and Anna. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and the family dog, Markie. Special thanks to Drs. Roberta Miller and Robin Connolly, Father Tom Connery, and the wonderful staff of Hospice, especially Joann McNulty. I felt especially sad this year, as my Dad has been gone 5 year as. I was looking through photos, and noticed he has the same shirt on in 3 pictures. He was happy with the simple things in life. He gave to others, much more then he took for himself. With Springs arrival, I always think of him, as he loved flowers, and planting. I have a blue spruce tree growing in my yard, just like the one we had in the back yard on Lomasney Ave. He is never really far from from me. Thank you Bernie for doing this!

We were happy to spend time with "uncle" Ben in August. Our entire family reaped the benefits of his giving helping ways when he was young and he appreciated the help and love he received from family & friends the past few years. May God Bless his soul and keep his family at peace. Love & prayers Tom, Teresa & family.

We Remember Him ( My Dad )
When we are weary and in need of strength,
When we are lost and sick at heart,
We remember him.
When we have a joy we crave to share
When we have decisions that are difficult to make
When we have achievements that are based on his
We remember him.
At the blowing of the wind and in the chill of winter
At the opening of the buds and in the rebirth of spring,
We remember him.
At the blueness of the skies and in the warmth of summer
At the rustling of the leaves and in the beauty of autumn,
We remember him.
At the rising of the sun and at its setting,
We remember him.
As long as we live, he too will live
For he is now a part of us,
As we remember him.
Adapted from the Yizkor Service I'll always love you dad. Bernie
