Charlene Guyatte Obituary

Guyatte, Charlene M. BALLSTON SPA Charlene M. Guyatte, 67, of Ballston Spa, beloved wife of James P. Guyatte entered into eternal life on Monday, November 16, 2015. Born in Cohoes, she was the daughter of the late Charles J. and the late Aline M. (Legasse) Roy. She was a graduate of Shaker High School, class of 1966. Charlene married her beloved James P. Guyatte on April 9, 1999 in Ballston Spa. After graduating from high school in 1966, Charlene worked as a hairdresser for several celebrities at the Coliseum (formerly the Starlight Theatre) in Latham. She had a chance to meet and work with stars such as Carol Channing and Bernadette Peters, to name a few. During this time, Charlene also worked as a hairdresser at a salon in Latham. At the salon, Charlene was in charge of creating beautiful updos and wig pieces that defined hair in the era of the 1960s. Still residing in Latham, Charlene was also a stay at home mom for several years, during her first marriage to James Fallon. After staying home for several years caring for her family, Charlene went back to work as the manager for Syracuse China in Albany. After enjoying working at Syracuse China for years, she became a claims adjuster for Prudential Insurance for over 15 years. During her second marriage to James Guyatte, Charlene moved to Malta where she currently resided. Charlene enjoyed traveling especially the yearly ski vacations with her family to Mont Tremblant, Canada, as well as entertaining friends and family, cooking and gardening. She was very creative and talented when it came to decorating and also enjoyed many crafts. But most of all, Charlene enjoyed making everyone feel welcome. She was a mother to all and greeted everyone with her signature warm smile and big hug. Charlene was integral in blending two families together during her second marriage, resulting in creating one big happy family! She was always upbeat, funny and was such a wonderful caring person. Anyone who has had the chance to be a part of Charlenes' life, has had the chance to experience what a wonderful gracious person she was. She will be greatly missed, but always loved! Survivors in addition to her husband include her loving daughter, Tiffany (David) Zadoorian of Ballston Spa; her stepchildren, Michele Fairburn, James B. Guyatte, David Guyatte, Daniel Guyatte; her cherished grandchildren, Riley Joseph Zadoorian, David J., Matthew W., and Haley Fairburn, Doyle J., Caryle Anna and Audrey Guyatte, Matthew Mackey and Andrew J. Guyatte. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and her dear pets Bailey and Boots. Charlene was also predeceased by her brother, Leonard P. Roy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's Church, Rt. 50, Ballston Spa, on Saturday, November 21, 2015, at 9:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Rd., Latham, on Friday, November 20, 2015, from 4 -7 p.m. Interment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
