David Smitas Obituary

Smitas, David A. LOS ANGELES David Anthony Smitas died on September 16, 2014 in Los Angeles. He was born on August 6, 1952 to Vytautas and Margaret Mary (McCabe) Smitas. He is survived by his wife Eleanor Albano; his mother Mary Smitas; his five siblings, Kathy Brumwell, Maureen Smitas, Linda Smitas, Suzanne Lelogeais, and Stephen Smitas, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends across the world. A memorial service will be held in David's honor on Saturday, October 4, 2014, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 10 Lodge St., Albany, with a reception following at the Italian American Center.

I went to school with Dave....John Drislane and me would pick him up to go to school together....his father put most of the silver in my mouth....wonderful childhood friend....God Bless and keep him...

David was one of my dearest friends when we attended college at SUNY Albany. I have very fond memories of those times years ago and am so sorry to hear of his death. My condolences to his family.
