Domenic Capoccia Obituary

Capoccia, Domenic
SCHENECTADY - Domenic Capoccia, 58, entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 30, 2023, at Ellis Hospital, after a long and hard-fought battle with kidney disease.
Domenic was born in Schenectady, a devoted son of the late Giustino and Angelina DiCarlo Capoccia. He was a 1982 graduate of Linton High School and attended H.V.C.C. pursuing a degree in civil engineering. Domenic was a talented master mason, he learned his trade and worked alongside some of the best tradesmen on the Northside. He owned and operated Northeastern Contracting. An entrepreneur, Domenic with his three sons, started and operated Capoccia Winery in Niskayuna. Teaching his boys to dream and to persevere, he worked tirelessly alongside them to achieve their goals. His family was his devotion; he taught them strength, heritage and love. Domenic loved fishing with his sons; playing with his grandchildren; and was a volunteer firefighter in Rexford.
He is survived by his devoted sons, Nicholas (Kayla) Capoccia, Justin (Kerry) Capoccia and Michael Capoccia; grandchildren, Aria and Gianna Capoccia; dear friend and former wife, Rossana Zarrillo Capoccia; and numerous other family members and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union Street on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in Domenic's memory to Northeast Kidney Foundation at healthykidneys.org.

Domenic was a true friend and classmate. We didn´t really get to know each other until later in life but he was always there when needed and would give you the shirt off his back. We enjoyed Good times at his wine bar in Schenectady as well as the 35th high school reunion in 2017. He will be missed. God bless him and his wonderful family. On behalf of myself and members of the Linton class of 82, rest in peace my friend.

I am so very saddened to hear of Dominic "Mickey's" passing. I have known him since Kindergarten at St. Anthony's School, then Linton High School. He was always nice and had a great sense of humor too. My condolences, thoughts & prayers to his family.

I remember the first time I met Domenic. Rosanna, Maria and I were at the big table in the family room. Rosanna was so happy and nervous! You came in and were very respectful and nice. I have only seen him a couple times over the years but he was a good man and will be missed greatly!
