Eileen C. Sheldon

Sheldon, Eileen C. GREENVILLE Eileen C. Sheldon, 76, went into the arms of the Lord on Saturday, January 27, 2018, surrounded by her loving husband and family. Born on December 24, 1941, in Albany, a daughter of the late Isaac and Lillian Thomas Brandon. A lifelong resident of the area, Eileen graduated in 1961 from Philip J. Schuyler High School. She went on to receive her LPN license from Albany Memorial School of Nursing, beautician license from Austin Beauty School and studied art at The College of Saint Rose. She worked at Albany Memorial Hospital and she retired in 1991 from Central Nursing Associates, after 25 years. Eileen loved to do arts and crafts in her free time. Most of all, she was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend; she will be sadly missed by all. Eileen is survived by her beloved husband, Bruce Sheldon, whom she married in 1962; sons, Stepheon Sheldon (Katie) and Shawn Sheldon; brother, Reganald Brandon; sisters, Tina Robinson (Talbot) and Yolanda Brandon; grandchildren, Stepheon, Derrick, Latesha, Kayla and Sidney; and great-grandchildren, Krystiana, John, Emma, Aaliyah and Jayleigh. A host of nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. A going home service for Eileen will be held on Thursday, February 1, at 12 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Calling hours will be held prior to the service starting at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Graceland Cemetery, Albany.
