Leuschner, Elberta
SCHENECTADY - Elberta Grace (Gore) Leuschner of Schenectady, passed away on October 26, 2025, at Ellis Hospital.
Born on July 17, 1954, in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Alvin A. and Elberta G. (Brown) Gore. Berta graduated from Linton High School in 1972. Before her retirement in 2020, she worked for many years as an insurance claims adjustor. In retirement, she continued to work in home healthcare. She loved to travel, but her favorite things were helping others and spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by husband of 52 years, Wolfgang Leuschner I; four children, Wolfgang (Joanne) Leuschner II, Christel Leuschner, George (Jennifer) Lacosse III, and Jessica (Mark) LaQue. Also survived by six grandchildren, her greatest loves, Dietrich, Paul, Abriel, Maximus, Delilah, and Alexandra; siblings, Phyllis (Gilbert) Bliss, Elizabeth Snyder, Gary Gore, Al (Lisa) Gore, Susan (Charles) Freiermuht; sisters-in-law, Slyvia Gore and Linda Gore; and a large extended family. In addition to her parents, Berta was predeceased by brothers, Ronald Gore, Robert Gore, Paul Gore; and brother-in-law, Edward Snyder.
Services will be held on November 2, 2025, at 2 p.m., at Messiah Lutheran Church, 2850 Guilderland Ave., Schenectady, N.Y. 12306, followed by a reception at the Rotterdam Community Center, 705 Curry Rd., Schenectady, N.Y. 12306. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Berta's honor to the American Lung Association.

I am so very sorry to hear of Elberta's passing. I have known her for years, mostly from Messiah.
I send my deepest sympathy to her family. I'm afraid I could not attend any funeral, etc., as I live in Georgia now.
Please know that I loved her & know her family will miss her deeply!
