Kreig Leuschner Obituary
With sadness we announce the passing of Kreig Donald Leuschner, aged 63, native of the Pennsylvania Coal Regions who passed away peacefully on March 9, 2025, in Monroe, North Carolina.
Kreig was a proud Williams Valley High School ('79) and Williamson College of the Trades (Media, PA – '82) graduate, using his skills as a power plant manager throughout his career. Kreig was a wonderful husband, father, and pappy who loved his wife, children and grandchildren above all else. Kreig spent much of his life indulging in his children's interest and hobbies, spending early years coaching Kurt and Ashlee's t-ball teams, driving Ashlee and her friends back and forth to dance and cheer studios, and encouraging Kurt's love of music and flying. Kreig loved spending time with his bonus sons' Zack and Cody, turning paintballing weekends into sport and living at the motocross track as often as possible. He was a beloved husband to Cara Leuschner and a devoted father to Kurt, Ashlee, Zack, Cody. His generous spirit and inclination to "do for others" made him a cherished and loyal friend to many.
In his free time, Kreig enjoyed loving on his dogs, building model airplanes, listening to classic rock, and playing guitar, which brought him happiness and relaxation. He was also well known for giving his time and resources to supporting young musicians. Kreig frequently donated musical instruments, tech and repair services, and transportation and sound services to young people within the community.
Kreig is survived by his wife Cara Leuschner, son Kurt Leuschner (Emma), daughter Ashlee Post (Henry), stepsons Zack McCaskill (Nora), Cody McCaskill (Kady), 5 grandsons: Auggie Post, Jack Post, Holden Leuschner, Ozzy Leuschner, and Anderson McCaskill. He is also survived by his mother, Margaret Leuschner and sisters, Erin Leuschner and Greer Aukstakalnis (Tony), as well as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by his father Harold Leuschner.
The family will be celebrating Kreig's life in a private ceremony in Williamstown, PA. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Save The Music Foundation in his name.
Kreig will be dearly missed by all who knew him, and his legacy will live on through his family, especially his grandsons who he loved dearly.
