Francis Bruno Obituary

Bruno, Francis
TROY - Francis "Frank" Albert Bruno passed away peacefully, after a brief illness, on June 28, 2025. He was a young 84 year old.
Frank is the devoted, loving husband to his wife of 51 years, Gail (Page) Bruno of Troy, N.Y. and Fort Myers, Fla.
He is the beloved father of Kimberly Hussey (William) of Naples, Fla., and Francis Bruno (Renée Pinsonneault) of Troy, N.Y., and grandfather to William Hussey (Allison) of Naples, Fla., and Patrick Hussey (Kristen) of Tampa, Fla.
Frank is the cherished, eldest brother to Michael (Carol) Bruno of Spring Hill, Fla., Albert "Dada" Bruno of Stillwater, N.Y., Kathleen Bruno of North Greenbush, N.Y., James (Deborah) Bruno of Latham, N.Y., and Karen Chiera of Brunswick, N.Y.
Frank was born and raised in Troy, N.Y. He is the son of the late Albert and Catherine (Clemente) Bruno and was nurtured and raised by his wonderful grandmother, the late Carmella (Pitanillo) Clemente.
As a young boy at the Troy Boys and Girls Club, Frank was introduced to carpentry. The formative experience ignited his lifelong passion for the trade.
Frank spent most of his life working in construction and carpentry. It wasn't just a job; it was a testament to his character. He took great pride in his work that supported his family and helped his friends.
His work ethic was matched by his generosity with his time and talents; that generosity, in turn, fostered many lasting friendships throughout his life.
Frank started working as a young teenager, driving a truck to New York City markets for his Uncle Jerry's fruit crate business. He spent his career through his retirement with Zandri Construction firm and was a member of Carpenters Local 291. The CRAB Club in Troy made him an honorary member for plowing their lot with his best friend, "Chick" Teta.
Frank loved horse racing, a good card game, and making you laugh. He loved spending time with his family and eating, especially Gail's cooking. He loved the challenge of fixing anything that broke. Frank had a fashion sense that demonstrated his respect for any occasion. After retiring with Gail to Fort Myers, he stayed active doing the work he loved and built lasting friendships within the community he adored.
The family would like to thank the incredible nurses and staff at Joanne's House at Hope Hospice for their compassion and care, and their wonderful Cypress Lake Manor South community for their support.
Family and friends are invited and may call from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with funeral services at 1:00 p.m., all on Friday, July 25, 2025, at the McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home, corner of 109th St. and Third Ave., Lansingburgh. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Frank's name to the to The Boys & Girls Club, Troy.
