Frank Della Rocca Obituary

WEST ALBANY Frank Della Rocca, 96, died Saturday, March 6, 2004 at the Albany County Nursing Home. Born in Albany, he retired from the former Tobin Packing Co. in West Albany as a shipping clerk after 38 years of service. He also had worked for the New York Central Railroad. He was a life member and past president of the West Albany Italian Benevolent Society and life member of the West Albany Fire Co. #1. Mr. Della Rocca was a member of the Latham Knights of Columbus, the West Albany Rod and Gun Club and past president of the Tobin Packing Employees Union. He was a former trustee of St. Francis de Sales Church in West Albany where he belonged all his life. Frank was predeceased by his wife, Filumeno Lembo Della Roca. He was the dear father of Francis Della Rocca and his wife May of West Albany, Theresa Rice and her husband Loran of Clifton Park and Joan Paige and her husband Jim of Sacandaga; grandfather of Jacqueline, Jodi, Jill and Joel; brother of Ferdinand Della Rocca and Anne Califano, both of Albany, and the late Michael and Ralph Della Rocca, Helen Desimone and Jennie Della Rocca; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. from the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany thence to St. Francis de Sales Church, Exchange Street at 10:00 a.m. where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Monday, 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow the Mass at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery. Those wishing to remember Frank and his family in a special way may send contributions to St. Francis de Sales Church, 1 Maria Drive, Loudonville, NY 12211.

Frankie,Theresa & Joan, We're sorry that we won't be able to make the Funeral. As you know Frank was like a father to me. I enjoyed many years of his friendship and I was truly blessed to have known him.

I can't tell you in words how much I love him and am going to miss him.
