Gordon Clyne Obituary

Clyne, Gordon
RICHMOND,Tx - Gordon Asa Clyne was born May 8, 1928 in Albany, New York to Asa S. Clyne and Hazel Seraph Ketcham Clyne, and passed away October 14, 2025 in Richmond, Texas. He spent much of his life outdoors fishing and hunting in the Catskill and Adirondack mountains of New York and summers working on his uncle's dairy farm in Vermont. Gordon served in Korea and while training as an MP, he met the love of his life, and wife of 73 years, Velva Louellen Maser, in Charleston, WV. They lived their working lives in Hampton Manor, Rensselaer, NY and then split their home between Brant Lake in the Adirondacks, and Surfside Beach, SC for most of their retired lives. They moved to Richmond (near Houston) to be closer to family during Gordon's decline in health over the past 3 years.
Gordon was predeceased by his son, George Ketcham Clyne (just three weeks ago), his parents, Asa and Hazel, and both of his sisters, Patricia Jean Clyne, and Linda Ketcham Clyne. He is survived by his wife, Velva; his children, Brenda (William) Paloski, Roy (Bonnie Lehman) Clyne, and Patricia (Brian) Oliver; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a niece and several nephews and cousins.
To everyone out there who works with the elderly in support and respect of their declining years, thank you. Gordon felt that remembrances for him would be greatly appreciated by The American Cancer Society, The American Heart Association, and Alzheimer's research. Gordon requested that there not be a service, but that his ashes be scattered in the Adirondacks by family.
