HOMESTEAD, Fla. - Gregory James Endres, 65, passed peacefully at home on June 28, 2023, surrounded by family.
Born in Albany and raised in Clifton Park, he graduated from Shenendehowa High School, class of 1976. He attended Hudson Valley Community College, achieving a degree in criminal justice in 1978.
He pursued a career in law enforcement serving as a police officer in South Glens Falls and was promoted to sergeant while serving in Oneonta, N.Y.
He received a master's degree in education and worked for the New York State Department of Criminal Justice, teaching various law enforcement agencies including the New York State Police and the NYPD.
Upon retiring from New York State, he resettled in Homestead, Fla. and became an I.T. specialist for Baptist Health of South Florida.
He served as president of his neighborhood HOA. He and his wife Cindy became members of the Antique Automobile Club of America, South Florida Region. In 2014 they were voted as Most Valuable Members. He enjoyed restoring, owning and driving vintage automobiles.
He was predeceased by his parents, Richard and Agnes Endres; and infant son, Adam Gregory. He will be missed by his wife, Lucinda Endres; his son, Benjamin (Margie); his daughter, June Evanoff (Sean); and his grandchildren, Margot and Mateo Endres and Aiden, Rory and Audrey Evanoff. He will also be missed by his siblings, Linda Manley (Gerald), Lisa Malone (Michael), William (Maya), Erin Pezzulo (John), Ellen Endres, and Richard (Michelle),
along with many nieces and nephews, and his beloved parrot, Fruitcake.
A memorial gathering is being planned for the fall.
