Helen Staniak Obituary

Staniak, Helen MECHANICVILLE Mrs. Helen Crouse Staniak, 88, longtime resident of Farm to Market Rd., died Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Maplewood Manor, Ballston Spa, after a brief illness. Born in Riverside, Town of Stillwater October 28, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Louise Mitchell Crouse. A homemaker, Helen enjoyed reading and in particular especially poetry, of which she wrote some prose herself. She had been a communicant of Corpus Christi Church in Ushers. Her husband of 62 years, Edmund T. Staniak died last year, and she was also predeceased by brothers, Frank and Thomas Crouse, Jr. Survivors include three children, Mary Lou and husband William Eddy of Cambridge, Carol and husband Robert deMello of Willsboro, Thomas and wife Terry Staniak of Halfmoon. Also seven grandchildren, Rachael (Ryan) Leach, Trevor (Margaret) Eddy, Ryan (Robyn) Eddy, Kenneth and Phillip deMello, Tracey and Timothy Staniak, along with three great-grand-children, Liam, Samuel and Owen Eddy; a brother, Edward Crouse of Saratoga Lake along with nieces and nephews. Private services were held at the convenience of the family. There are no other services scheduled. Remembrances may be made to National MS Society, Upstate NY Chapter, 1650 South Ave, Suite 100, Rochester, NY 14620, or Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866. Arrangements by the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, Mechanicville.
