I'm so sorry for your loss. I've known Jim since he started working for the IRS Office of Legislative Affairs. We chatted a lot about past and future travel destinations. (Like Jim, I'm quite a world traveler.) He was a good friend and coworker, and will be greatly missed.

I did not know Jim well, but I have known him for decades. Before the IRS, where I now work, I was a reporter in the 1980s and 1990s on the Hill covering taxes where I met Jim as the tax counsel for Rep. McNulty. I was then surprised to see him in my condo building - the Imperial House - where I lived in the 1990s. Then I was surprised again when I started working at IRS to see he was there too. Condolences to the family. May his memory be a blessing.

Jim is a wonderful people person who helped me feel welcome when I join the IRS Office of Legislative Affairs. On my first trip to DC to meet the District Liaisons, Jim made a point to include me in everything possible, including a tour of the Capital. He's a great guy and I will miss him.

Peggy, Mike, and Family: Shortly after my election to Congress in 1988, Jim walked into my New York State Assembly office and offered to serve in our Congressional office beginning the following January. What a lucky day for me - and for the people of the Capital District. 20 years of outstanding public service by Jim followed. More importantly, Jim became a trusted and valued Friend from that day forward. I - and all of my Family members - are very sorry for your loss.

My condolences to Jim´s family and friends. He was the "voice of reason" for our work family, was always our "tour guide" when we visited DC, and will be dearly missed.
