I remeber Jim vividly from his time at LA County hospital. He was a terrific psychiatrist and a dedicated member of the progressive Baby Boomer generation. He contributed to improvements and reforms at that hoary institution. His doppelganger is favorably treated in my novel of that activist era, Stone Mother. My condolences to his family. I am deeply saddened by his death.

So sorry to read of Jim`s passing. He was a good friend in medical school, and we certainly appreciated his input many times to the troubled adolescent community that many of us in general medicine needed help in treating.
My condolences to his survivors, who surely should know how much he was loved in the medical community.

I was one of a very few women in James´s medical school class. He was part of the group who were very kind to us. Many were not! We really appreciated the support in a tough environment.

I worked at CDPC with James and at the NYS Office of Mental Health. He was one of the finest MDs I´ve known in my carrier and one of the best human beings. The world and many many people are in a better place because they had the privilege to know James.

I´m so glad I got to know James a little bit and share painting experiences and tips. He was a talented painter. And what a sweet and kind person he was. He made such a difference in so many lives.

James was a good friend who I have worked with for years through the AACAP. We were friends on Executive committees together and on taskforces and he was in charge of Project Future my Presidential Initiative . He did an excellent job and did so with diligence , leadership, humor and many smiles. i always looked forward to his photos of his grandkids that he obviously adored. I was saddened that when I looked for more photos that there was an obituary. I will miss the interactions and friendship... and the smiles.
