Janet C. Hagan

Hagan, Janet LATHAM Mrs. Janet C. Hagan, 85, of Marconi Drive, died Monday morning, June 17, 2013 at Ellis Health Care, Schenectady, after an extended illness.Born in Tulsa, Okla., April 2, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Bernice Russ and Nettie Russ. A tax clerk for the New York State Dept. of Tax and Finance in Albany, Janet retired after 20 years of service, some years ago. A proud member of AA (Alcoholic Anonymous), Janet was an active mentor and counseled many people through difficult times of their lives. A woman who enjoyed shopping and summer beach times at Narragansett, R.I., with her family, Janet was a doting mom and grand-mother. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, John J. Hagan; along with three daughters, Jill Hagan of Cohoes, Leslie and husband Mark Laven of Loudonville and Kyle and husband Paul Perrotta of Latham; grandsons, USN Lt. Whitney Abraham and fiancee USN Ltjg. Samantha Carnahan and Max Perrotta; along with her dear niece, Lee Miles of England. She was also predeceased by her sister, Jane Miles. The Hagan family extends their thanks and gratitude to Ellis Health Care and Community Hospice for their care, compassion and concern during Janet's illness. A gathering of friends will be held on Thursday, June 20 from 4-7 p.m. at Dufresne and Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham.
