Joan Campbell Obituary

COLONIE Joan Ann Campbell, 71, died Sunday, February 20, 2005 after a brief but inspiring battle with complications from a heart attack. Joan was born on March 7, 1933, the daughter of Ann Markiewicz (Hawkins) of Albany. Joan is survived by her soulmate and devoted husband of 45 years, Hugh H. Campbell Jr.; two loving children, Janine Baldwin (John) of Saratoga Springs and Hugh Campbell III (Beth) of Cape Elizabeth, Maine; the apples of Granny's eye, three grandchildren, Caroline, Caleigh and baby Liam; lifetime friend and sister since grammar school, Theresa Bisognano and husband Andy; her beloved companion, Thistle; and other family members, Bert and Ellie Campbell of Voorheesville, Heather and Larry Smith of Somerset, N.J.; nieces, Cyndi Reiss (Tim and children, Andrew and Georganna), Missy MacMillen (Matt) and Tara Smith. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Joan's family Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at the Reilly & Son Funeral Home, Colonie. A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at St. Stephen's Church, 1935 The Plaza, Schenectady, NY 12309. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Stephen's Episcopal Church.
