NORTH GREENBUSH - John Edward "Eddie" Collins, 82, passed away peacefully at home on March 17, 2025.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Doris Collins; his children, Michael Collins (Mary), Kimberly Bromberg (Rick), and Mark Collins. He is also survived by his beloved siblings, and four cherished grandchildren, who brought him joy and pride.
Born in Potsdam, N.Y., Eddie was the son of the late John Collins and Mary Rita (Lantry) Collins. A graduate of Catholic Central High School, and Siena College. Eddie enjoyed a successful career as a banker at KeyBank, dedicating over 30 years to his profession. Finishing his career working for the Center for Disability Services in Albany, N.Y.
Eddie found great happiness in vacationing with Doris, making memories that they both treasured. A devoted sports enthusiast, Eddie loved watching and attending sporting events, whether it was cheering on the Siena Saints as a proud season ticket holder, rooting for the Buffalo Bills, or following the New York Yankees. He cherished summer days at the Saratoga Race Course, floating in the pool, or simply relaxing on the patio, listening to "the game" on the radio with a "cold one" in hand.
Above all, Eddie will be remembered for his warm heart, and infectious sense of humor. Eddie had a natural ability to bring people together. He cherished social gatherings with family and friends, creating memories filled with laughter and love. His warmth, laughter, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation Saturday, March 22. from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., followed by a Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m., in the Wm. J. Rockefeller Funeral Home Inc., 165 Columbia Tpk., Rensselaer.
