Kathie Stoddard Obituary
STILLWATER - Kathie E. Stoddard, 73, of Kellogg Rd., died peacefully in the comfort of her home on December 1, 2024, with her loving family at her side. Born in Glens Falls, N.Y. on September 21, 1951, daughter of the late Glen and Loretta Engwer Stoddard, she was a graduate of Glens Falls High School.
Directly out of high school, Kathie was recruited by the FBI and worked in Washington, D.C. for one year before realizing she didn't like the big city life and moved back home to the North Country. She later worked for Saratoga Hospital for several years, until she was hired by Four Winds in Saratoga Springs, where she retired after a 30 year career, in her role as Director of Support Services.
After retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her husband, Paul, many of their trips in Europe and other places abroad. She and Paul spent over 40 years as Chocolate Lab breeders, providing loving dogs to many families throughout the years. Their most recent Chocolate Lab, Miss Stella, spent the last 14 years with them. Kathie had a great sense of humor and loved hosting her friends to her home, always providing great food and friendship to them. She loved small town life, and she treasured the Stillwater community.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Paul "Mace" Macey, whom she married January 19, 1974; brothers, Keith (Nancy Farrell) Stoddard and Kim Stoddard. She will also be fondly remembered by many coworkers, friends, neighbors and extended family.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 9, from 10-11:30 a.m., at DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 S. Main St., Mechanicville, N.Y., 12118. Immediate family will then proceed to the Saratoga National Cemetery, for a private interment service. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations to Arvin Hart Fire Department, P.O. Box 288, Stillwater, N.Y. 12170, in loving memory of Kathie E. Stoddard.
