I am in total shock right now. I've been weeping since I read this. It just seems so unreal.
I knew Lydia for a short period of time when she was a toddler. She was a very beautiful little girl with unforgettable blue eyes. She had a very close and loving family who I will never forget...and they loved her very, very much. I know how much their Aunt Debbie cherished her beautiful nieces. My heart hurts for your family so much.
I am so sorry that you were taken from them all, so suddenly. It isnt fair.
Lydia, I know that everyday you are missed sorely.
continue to be your family and friend's guardian angel. I know that I barely knew you, but I was so close to being a part of your family and I will forever miss you.

Your story has touched my heart even though we have never met. I too have a daughter who is 9 and another who is 6, and she is named Lydia. After reading about the accident in a local paper I began to pray for you all. I decided to cut out the article and put it in my devotional book. I lift you all up in pray each night. I pray that God will hold you in the palm of His hand, comforting you and giving you the strength for each day. I also pray that your wonderful memories of your Lydia will overcome your sorrow.

To the entire McCauslin family,
I wanted you all to know that my family is praying for you. Although I did not know Lydia, I had noticed your beautiful family many times in church and witnessed your closeness. Charlotte was my daughter Madison's first friend in Kindergarten and they have remained the best of friends. Maddie told me how Charlotte would hug Lydia every day after recess. I know how much she was, and forever will be, cherished. I feel for your family in every way possible. Please have me on the top of your list to call if you need anything. When My Mom told me that Lydia was dead, I broke down crying. Lydia was my very best friend.We met when we did drama together.It was when she was playing the schoolteacher from the King and I, when we instantly became friends. but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.

And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,

And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,

To The McCauslin Family-
Our son, Mason, was in Lydia's class. He loved her so much. He spoke of her often and since this tragedy he continues to talk about her-how nice she always was to him and how pretty she was. She made such a wonderful impression on him and she will be greatly missed.
On Monday morning, the class had booklets on the student's desks with lists that the kids made about what they were 'thankful' for...I found some peace in this tragedy when I read Lydia's 6 things that she was thankful for...#1 was her family and #2 was "to see the Lord"...Lydia IS with the Lord now and that gave me some peace in this horrible situation...
We explained to Mason that he now has a beautiful Guardian Angel watching over him in Heaven.
Our hearts go out to your family at this most difficult time. Please know that your family at Resurrection-St. Paul School is here to help in whatever way we can. Please know that your family is in our thoughts and prayers.
