I never knew Matt but after reading the condolences from "Pete" I know why he was on this earth...what a nice person he must have been! I'm sure you will miss him. Fondly, Donna N.

I knew Matt when we rode the bus home together. He was a few years ahead of me at CBA and while he wasn't always on the bus, he was always nice to me when he was.
I spent most of those years at CBA getting bullied on a daily basis, starting on the bus and sometimes ending only when I got home. The days that Matt took the bus home and we drove down Sky Hollow, he and I would talk, and for a moment, I wasn't getting picked on or called names. I got to have a conversation, with a nice guy who was popular, and then see him the next day or two at school. I can't recall a specific conversation we had - whatever small talk was in the 90s for high schoolers wearing military greens. But Matt was always a nice guy to me, in the hallways of school too - a place that wasn't welcoming to me either. Matt made it better, even if for a moment.
I hadn't seen Matt in 20 years or so, but this memory of him sticks out every time I drive up Wards Lane and see Sky Hollow and remember how he was nice to me when others weren't.
My prayers are with his family. RIP Matt.

Dear Carol, Nicole, Boo, Nicholas and Anna. It breaks my heart to see Matt leave us at such a young age, but the silver lining in all of this is that he left us peacefully and is now reunited with his dad in Heaven. I could write a novel about how Matt was an impact on my own life, and the memories I will cherish growing up together on Sky Hollow Drive, St. Pius X Soccer, CBA and of course - Wolfert's Roost Swim Team, Tennis Team and Jr. Golf. One of Matt's greatest attributes was that he could light up a room with such laughter with that great smile he brought to so many of us. The shenanigans we used to do together attending so many sporting events, the neighborhood kickball games and snowball fights are something I will always remember my best times with Matt. There is so much to say here, but more to follow when I am with you on Thursday. Be strong, God Bless and we love you.
