Every single day I am reminded of the things Matt taught me. He taught me to be humble and thankful for the small things in life. He taugh me that looks are never the most important thing we deal with. He helped me to remember to look for the good in people because the bad is always standing out but the good is sometimes harder to see. He touched me in ways no other humam being ever will. I too miss you and will be forever greatful for having been part of your life.

Where to start? Matt was one of the brightest kids I ever knew. We've had such great times since we were young kids. I remember going to Great Escape with all you guys when we were just little peanuts. He was a funny kid, too! Last summer everyone was in Aunt Loretta & Uncle Fred's camp watching NASCAR and Matt and I didn't even care about the race, all we cared about was the racers drinking the milk.
My family and I love spending time with all of you up North.

To the entire family,
Living next door (while Allison is running away from bees), getting together with friends for dinner, meeting at the bus stop, going out at night for a few cocktails, playing cards, knowing Charlie...(the list goes on). We've all have become closer to each other, just like a family. As I read all these wonderful entries, it's becoming harder to see what I'm reading. My eyes are flooding my keyboard. Many of lives have been touched by a person known to me as 'The Little Man'. As time goes on, we will all continue with our daily routine, but the memories will always remain within us. This 'Little Man' has touched all of us. Just like a family member does.

Since the first day i met matt over the computer in Mrs.Wellers class in fifth grade i knew he was a special kid. His humor brightned up any room or group he was in. We all love him and miss him.

Until I met your son, Matt Proctor, I never realized how precious life can be.
I only knew him for 2 and a half years, but that was enough time for him to change my world.
When I met him, I didn't know he was sick. He made me cry from laughing so hard daily.
As time went on and I knew he was sick, he started to look physically worse, but that never got to him. He always could make everyone laugh whether it be by drawing a big Trogdor on the chalkboard when the teacher wasn't looking, to when he'd crack jokes from the back corner of the band room while Mr. O was lecturing us on how we need to practice more, to when he'd take pictures of us and photoshop them to the heads of body builders.
Matt was one of my closest friends. Words can't describe the positive impact he has left on all of us. I'll never forget him.

Is it possible his mission from above was to spend a little time with us, inspire and move us all with his spirit, his tenacity and his courage, and then move on to another assignment when his blessed role here was fulfilled? I just wanted to take a moment to extend my sympathy to Matt's many family and friends. I know of Matt through stories that Janet Irwin has been sharing with myself and our forum friends over the years. Although we joined our hearts and thoughts in prayer for him many times, we also looked to him as a great teacher. Janet's stories of Matt's strength and courage encouraged us all to remember to give each day our best, and face whatever comes our way. He has touched more lives than you may have realized!
