Michael J. Fitzpatrick

Fitzpatrick, Michael J. WATERVLIET Michael J. Fitzpatrick entered eternal rest on Sunday, February 28, 2016, at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Fla. Born in Troy, Michael was the son of the late Harold Fitzpatrick and the late Anne Horth Fitzpatrick. After graduating from CCHS, Michael followed in his father's footsteps and began working for the Behr-Manning, Norton company in Watervliet. He later worked for the Dept of Transportation, from which he retired after 33 years. In his free time Michael enjoyed any and all activities that would put him outdoors. Hunting, fishing, bicycling, camping, gardening, and metal detecting were just a few of his hobbies. A real outdoorsman, Michael, along with his wife Gail, could often be found traveling all over the country. Michael is survived by his loving wife, Gail Burnell Fitzpatrick; his three children, Michael (Kimberly) Fitzpatrick of Lansingburgh, Darci Fitzpatrick of Cohoes, and Cory (Josie) Fitzpatrick of Lake Luzerne. His memory also lives on in seven adoring grandchildren, Aubrey and Dory Fitzpatrick, Joshua, Nakya and Kylee Rose Fitzpatrick, and Sequoya and Kiernan Fitzpatrick. He is also survived by his siblings, Anne (Robert) Snyder of Albany and Bill (Marian) Fitzpatrick of Florida; five nieces and nephews, Amy (Glenn), Sarah (Josh), Jamie (Kate), Jason (Heather), and Jessica; and three sisters-in-law, Doreen Robinson of Lansingburgh, Mary Pobran of Lansingburgh, Elsie (late Sonny) Burnell of Cohoes and many loving nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 2, 2016, at 12 p.m. at the Parker Bros. Memorial Funeral Home, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with Michael's family before the service, from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie.
