Michael Spector

Spector, Michael GLENVILLE Michael Spector, 61, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on October 26, 2018. Born on June 17, 1957, in Troy, Michael was the son of the late Leonard and Lorraine (Casey) Spector. Mike graduated from Colonie Central High School in 1975 and SUNY Cobleskill with an associate's degree. He then went to Maria College and earned a degree in nursing. Mike was a hard worker for over 34 years as a registered nurse in the Capital District and was a humble mentor to many in the medical profession. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. Mike was a passionate New York Giants and Boston Red Sox fan. He could be found each Monday night at Peckham's Place beating his friends at pool. Mike loved and accepted everyone and always did the right thing. He was a caring, dedicated, brilliant, humorous, spontaneous and most importantly loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Mike is survived by his wife Kim; his children, Jacquelyn (Rocco) Archina, Kate (Anthony) Abbate, Matthew Donato, Stephanie Donato and Hannah Pelletier; granddaughters, Gioia "G," Milana "Mimers," Fabiana "Fabi" and Arya; his sister, Eve Spector; his mother-in-law, Patricia Courtemanche "Ma." Mike is also survived by many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, Mike was predeceased by his father-in-law, Paul Courtemanche "Pa." Mike's family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. Michael Perrotti for his compassionate and loving care and to Gary O'Connor for his friendship and guidance over the years. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, November 3, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd, Colonie. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Michael Spector Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o Kim Spector at any Sunmark Federal Credit Union branch. The scholarship will be awarded to a male nursing student at Maria College.
