Norman Shubin Obituary

Shubin, Norman WEST ORANGE, N.J. Norman Shubin, age 93, of the Daughters of Israel Home in West Orange, N.J. died on Saturday evening, August 28, 2010 at the Barnabas Hospital in Livingston, N.J. Born in DuBois, Pa., Mr. Shubin grew up in Rochester, N.Y. later moving to Schenectady in 1958. He was an Army veteran and served during World War II. Norman was a clothing buyer for the former Jonathan Reed Stores in the Capital District. Mr. Shubin moved to Sarasota, Fla. in 1988 and has been in N.J. the last several years. He is a member of Congregation Beth Israel in Schenectady. He was married to Molly Shubin until her passing in 2005. Loving father of Michelle Shubin and her husband Hector of Maplewood, N.J. He also leaves various extended family members. Services at the Beth Israel Cemetery on Abbottsford Road in Rotterdam, N.Y. on Monday, August 30, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. Those wishing to remember Norman in a special way may make a memorial contribution to Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders, 85 Watervliet Ave., Albany, NY 12206.
