Olga Mattioli Obituary

GLENVILLE Olga Antonick Mattioli, 77, passed way Thursday, March 27, 2003, at her home following a short illness. Olga was born in Brooklyn on April 6, 1925, a daughter to the late Peter and Marie Rapak Antonick. Mrs. Mattioli was a dedicated housewife to her entire family and husband of 61 years, Orlando Mattioli. She resided most of her life in Rotterdam. Olga was a longtime communicant of St. Margaret of Cortona Church in Rotterdam Junction. Survivors include her husband, Orlando Mattioli whom she married August 6, 1941; their children, Terry Mattioli and his wife Linda of Paradise Valley, Ariz., Carolyn Meyer of the Village of Colonie and Peter Mattioli of Utica; sister of Theresa Polichetti of Coram, L.I., Alex and his wife Jean Antonick of Massapequa, L.I., Michael Antonick of Monroe, Nadia and Dominick Galluzzo of the Bronx and Frank and Bernie Antonick of New York City; grandmother of Lisa Mattioli Katz and her husband Dr. Anthony Katz, Daniel and Mary Mattioli, all of Scottsdale, Ariz., Denise Barbera Ramsay and her husband Rae Ramsey and Joseph Barbera, all of Plano, Texas, Lonna Barbera Tocco and her husband Gary Tocco of New Albany, Miss., Eddie Meyer at Binghamton University, Binghamton; great-grandmother of Arianna Barbera, Alyssa Mattioli, Anthony Mattioli, Abigail Kacensky; sister-in-law of Helen and Stephen Sagonas of Sicklerville, N.J., Elizabeth Dean of Rotterdam Junction, Tom Esposito of Lodi, N.J. and Frank Mattioli of Palm Coast, Fla. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Services Wednesday at 8 a.m. from the N. Rossi & Sons Funeral Home, Union at N. Jay Streets, followed at 9 a.m. at St. Margaret of Cortona Church, Rotterdam Junction, where a Mass will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 4 to 8. Interment will follow in Sts. Cyril and Method Cemetery, Rotterdam. Memorial contributions may be made in Olga's name to the American Cancer Society.
