Richard Stevens Obituary
ALBANY - It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Richard J. "Dickie" Stevens, 74, on March 9, 2025. Born in Albany, N.Y., he was the son of the late Edward and Grace Stevens. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Karen Stevens (Pfeiffer); and his children, Richard W. E. Stevens and Meghan K. Stevens (Michio Cohen).
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 14, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., at Blessed Sacrament Church, 607 Central Ave. (Father Bradley Way), Albany, N.Y. 12206, where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Relative and friends are invited to visit with Dickie's family on Thursday, March 13, 2025, 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Magin & Keegan Funeral Home, 891 Madison Ave., Albany, N.Y. 12208.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Make-A-Wish Vermont and Northeast New York. 92 Congress St., Saratoga Springs, N.Y. 12866, wish.org/vtny

On behalf of the Albany Police Department Non-Sworn Union, Local 3185 we would like to extend our heartfelt sympathies to the Steven's family.
Dickie was instrumental in the unionizing of the Non-Sworn members of the Police Department (what was then a sub-division of the Police Officers Union, Local 2184). He worked tirelessly to help us get our very first contract and he never stopped from there. In fact, right up until his passing we have looked to him for guidance. On top of that though, he was a wonderful human being and he will be sorely missed.
