Robert E. Shaw

Shaw, Robert E. WATERFORD Robert E. Shaw, 75 of Timber Drive, passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2022, at Samaritan Hospital with his beloved granddaughter by his side, after a short but courageous endeavor for peace. Special thanks are extended by his family to the E.R. and I.C.U. staff at Samaritan Hospital. Born in Cohoes, he was the son of the late William E. and Grace McGuire Shaw. He was a 1966 graduate of Keveny Memorial Academy and later graduated from Hudson Valley Community College. Bob was employed in the banking industry for 35 years and retired 20 years ago from M&T Bank. He was a member of the Cohoes-Waterford Lodge of Elks. He enjoyed going to estate sales and refinishing antiques. He also collected coins and spending time observing nature. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Sheila Larkins Shaw; and his son, Kevin P. Shaw (Onalova) of Albany. He was the brother of Denny Charette of Pleasantdale, Grace Hickey and Dawn Dellea of Cohoes, Paul Shaw of Berlin, the late Shirley Peltier, Cindy Aiardo and William Shaw. He was the proud grandfather of Rachel Lynn Shaw. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte.32), Waterford and at 11 a.m. in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Waterford. Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday from 9 - 10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral service.
