Rudolf Wertime Obituary

Wertime, Rudolf M. GREENCASTLE, Pa. Rudolf M. Wertime of Greencastle, died Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at home. He was born in Ohio County, W. Va., on May 25, 1912, the son of Rudolf and Flora Montgomery Wertime. Mr. Wertime was an 84 year member of Presbyterian Church of Falling Spring, Chambersburg, Pa. and actively served many years as ordained elder and deacon, and president of the board of trustees as well as Sunday school teacher. With the exception of military service in the U.S. Army from January 1943 through August 1946, Mr. Wertime practiced law in Greencastle and Chambersburg for 65 years. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Phyllis Carrington Wertime; five children, Robert, Timothy, David, Rebecca of Pa. and Mary Beth and husband S. Tjip Walker of Va.; grandchildren, Eliot and Hannah Walker; one sister, Selma Thomson; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Theodore Wertime and Joesph Wertime; two sisters, Mary Katherine Wehausen and Clara Gilmer; and an uncle, Walter Wertime Sr. of Cohoes, N.Y. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 10 in the sanctuary of the Presbyterian Church of Falling Spring, Chambersburg.
