Evers, Susan R. Lydon
ALBANY - Susan R. Lydon Evers, 61, entered eternal life on Saturday, August 26, 2023.
Born in Albany, she was the dear daughter of the late Thomas J. and Eileen Conroy Lydon.
Susan graduated from The Academy of the Holy Names, and Simmons College, Boston, Mass. She worked as a registered nurse for many years at the Albany County Health Department and St. Peter's Hospital. She loved her daughter Lily, traveling in her younger days, and her dogs.
She was the beloved and cherished mother of Lily Evers; dear sister of Anne Finn (Charles), Daniel Lydon (Michele), Thomas Lydon (Sue Anne) and Joseph Lydon (Karen); many nieces and nephews also survive.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Susan's family Thursday, August 31, 4 to 7 p.m. at McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen St., Albany, NY 12206. Please enter the funeral home from the rear parking lot entrance only.
Funeral services Friday, September 1, at 9 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, 607 Central Ave. (Father John Bradley Way), Albany, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal will be held at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands, immediately following the Mass.
Those wishing to remember Susan in a special way may send a contribution to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave., Menands, NY 12204.

To the Lydon & Evers family's, I heard the news of Susan's passing on Friday, the day after the wake. Joe, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Sue, I didn't know her well but heard so many wonderful stories over the years through you. Being the only girl with all those brothers, couldn't have been easy. Whenever I saw her, she always had a warm smile for me, so genuine. Please know, I am praying for you all, especially for you Lily, it's hard to lose a Mom, especially one as wonderful as yours. May God Bless you all.

I have known Sue for many years. We worked at St Peter´s and Albany County together. She was a kind, gentle and caring person. She had the best laugh! Very proud of her daughter Lily. Peace and rest to her.

Hearts are breaking for so many of Susan´s friends... myself very much included.
Working at St. Peter´s Family Health Center, we first met and became friends... a friendship that lasted many years. She was a burst of energy and a joy to all who knew her... employees of all different expertise and patients alike. . May she rest in peace.

I am heart broken to hear of Sue´s passing, she was such a good friend in our days at Blessed Sacrament and still keeping in touch throughout high school. She came to my wedding but it´s been many years since I had actually been in touch with her. I have nothing but wonderful memories of the years we spent at each others houses while growing up, and send prayers to her family, especially her daughter Lily, as they all cope with their loss.

Susan was a golden girl, a dear childhood friend that I looked up to. She was a beautiful person both inside and out. I´ll always remember those endless summer days eating sour cherries on the back porch, crashing our neighbor´s go-cart on Main Avenue and the tireless nights of hide and go seek and kickball in the back lot. She taught me the lyrics to Maggie May and I made her listen to my Partridge Family album. We played Miss Manner´s at her kitchen table while her sweet father served us Spaghetti O´s and malted milk balls. She watched over me, protected me and treated me so wonderfully. I´ll never forget you Sue. You were such a huge part of my childhood. My mom loved your mom and always raved about you and your daughter Lily. May you rest in eternal peace with your loved ones surrounding you. XO.

So sorry to read about Sue´s passing. I worked with her for many years at Albany County Health Department and for a time she sat across from me in the office so we became good friends. She was a real sweetheart and a very hard worker and an excellent nurse.
