Smyth, Thomas
ALBANY - Thomas F. Smyth, 75, entered Eternal Life Tuesday, April 15, 2025. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of the late Norman and Katherine O'Rourke Smyth.
Thomas graduated from Brooklyn Prep High School, Manhattan College, and received Master Degrees from CW Post and Fordham University. Thomas served as Director of Physical Plant and Operations for various colleges and hospitals in the northeast. He enjoyed reading, model trains, movies and history. He was a lover of all sports, and his favorite teams were the former Brooklyn Dodgers, New York Giants, and New York Mets.
He was the devoted husband of the late Lynne C. Audley Smyth; loving father of Ryan K. Fishwick (Joseph) and Erin M. Smyth; grandfather of Joseph, Thomas and Lynne Fishwick; brother of the late Norman T. Smyth and Lillian A. Smyth; survived by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Thomas's family Monday, April 21, 2025, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., at Parish of Mater Christi, 40 Hopewell St., (Rev. Kenneth J. Doyle Way), Albany, N.Y. 12208. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. The Rite of Committal will be held at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Catskill, N.Y., immediately following the Mass.
