Thomas Thomas Obituary
POESTENKILL - Thomas N. "Papa" Thomas, 71, of Snyders Corner Rd., Wynantskill, peacefully passed away, surrounded by his family at home, on Tuesday, July 16, 2024.
Born in Troy, N.Y., he was the son of Florence Thomas and the late John Joseph Thomas. Tom was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School.
Tom retired from Troy Housing Authority, where he was an inspector, but most will remember him fondly from Thomas' Tavern. Thomas' had been operated by two generations of the Thomas family, but closed in 1995. Of all his roles in life, being a grandfather brought him the greatest joy. His grandchildren were the light of his life. His circle of friends were more than just friends; they were family, sharing in both joys and challenges.
Tom is survived by his daughters, Maurissa (Jon) Valentine, Danielle (Eric) Miller; and their mother, Kathy Mancini. Dear brother of Sandra (David) Dunham, and John Joseph Thomas Jr. Cherished grandfather of Riyana Miller, LandenValentine and Avery Valentine. Also survived by several nieces and nephews, and their families.
Papa, you were our rock, our guide, and our greatest source of joy. Your love and kindness has left an indelible mark on all of us. We will miss you dearly but take comfort in knowing that you are now at peace.
Papa's legacy of respect, love and friendship will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Private funeral arrangements were entrusted by his family to the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc., 565 Fourth Avenue (at the corner of 115th St., in Lansingburgh), Troy, N.Y. 12182.

Rest in peace my friend, true and trident and tough as nails when need be! To your precious daughters Danielle and Maurissa and your loving Mother Florence your Dad and son was a true man through and through and also a had a heart of gold not only for family but so many more. I went through LHS school years and many years with the THA with Tom not to mention many visits to the family business, Thomas Tavern! Famous among Troy bars. I watched how you took such good care of your Mom every day at her home where I work. To your Mom and daughters you have a special guardian Angel looking after you like no other , that devotion of a Dad and Son will keep you strong until you are with him in paradise one day, not too soon, he needs you to move on for now and know he is with you always! God Bless his soul.

Went to school with Tommy Norman Thomas, I always remembered his middle name. He was a Great Friend to all. Had many memorable times at Thomas´ Tavern! Prayers to his family. So sorry for your loss.
