On this memorial day I light this candle for my nephew PFC Tim Hines, Jr. May he rest in peace and look down upon us and guide us thru our days. We can not see you but we know you are there.
On a day (weekend) that everyone fills with family, friends gatherings may we remember why we celebrate the holdiday.
Tim we went to visit you today at the Cemetary. The entire family was there. Aunt Laura, Uncle Dave, Rachel/Joe, SPC David E Neiheisel, Jr and his fiance Emily and Grandma Hines. It was the most meaningful visit I have ever had. We also visited my father in law who is an avid WWII Veteran. We placed flowers and an American Flag at both of your gravesites. The gravesite Katy has made for you is AWESOME. It brings a tear to ones eye to see the love you two had. I don't know or understand God's reason for taking you so young but you now do. While we are so sad you were taken at such a young age We are so grateful that David and Jeff are here to celebrate your life.
Say hello to my father in law as the two of you watch down upon us.
Love your family

Beautiful Soldier
Beautiful Soldier laid to rest
You tried so hard and gave your best.
I see your smile, I hear your laughing,
They never fade with each year’s passing.
The roller coaster ride of sadness and grieving,
Smothers us all with thoughts of your leaving.
Emotions still raw with pain ever rending
We carry on with Love never ending.
Your passion for life we can never out do
You made each day fresh and new.
In the midst of the pain comes a joy so true
That God wondrously Blessed those who knew you.
Rest in peace Beautiful Soldier.

Four years ago our hearts were broken when we lost you. You brought so much joy and happiness to so many, you changed our hearts forever. This year, more than ever, I want people to celebrate your life and the joy that you brought to all of us. Your life was so much more than your death and that's what we need to remember. Your life wasn't about sadness or despair, but rather laughter and love. That's what we have to remember especially on days like this, when we're missing you even more. We will never stop loving you or missing you, but we will try to feel joy when remembering all of our good times, all of the times we spent laughing our heads off with you, because that's what your life was about. Bringing joy to our hearts and always making us see the brighter side of things. Although it seems too short for all of us, "He only takes the best", and you truly brought out the best in us, and you changed so many lives through your faith, laughter and love, and I thank God for every single day I got to spend with you. It was truly a blessing to have you in my life. Thank you for all of your sacrifices and all of your love!

Noone ever thinks about losing the love of their life when they're so young and so in love. Noone imagines watching their soulmate, the love of their life, suffer and fade away until they're gone from this life. We loved you, you gave us life and loved us back unconditionally, and you have made an incredible impact on all of our lives. To have even one more moment with you, would be the greatest moment of my life. I will always love you, that's what I was born to do. It will never be fair, and we will probably never understand, but God gave us an amazing gift by letting you into our lives, leaving an imprint on all our hearts. Our lives will never be the same without you, but our hearts will always be filled with your love, today, tomorrow, and forever.

Minutes turned to hours, hours into days, days into months and months into years since I last heard my brothers voice. He meant more to me than anyone could ever know. He was my big brother and I looked up to him so much. I'm so proud of him and the sacrifice he made for his family and country. It does my heart good to know that his sacrifice is appreciated and not forgotten. It is unbelievable the number of lives he has impacted. Thank you for remembering.

Some people come into our lives
and quickly go.
Some people move our souls to dance.
They awaken us to new understanding
with the passing whisper of their wisdom.
Some people make
the sky more beautiful to gaze upon.
They stay in our lives for awhile, leave footprints on our hearts
And we are never, ever the same.
I'm on another deployment to the same hospital PFC Hines was brought to in 2005. He was one tough guy. He had such an impact on our staff. He will always be in my heart.

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.
The Wind on The Downs
“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….
“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”
I did not know Timothy, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side
i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

Timmy,
I still think about you every day. I still cannot believe that you were taken from us at such an early age. I still sometimes ask God why it had to be you, why anyone at all. I hope that all of this will end soon so we do not have to wonder if we are going to lose someone else. Katy has done a wonderful job raising your children. I have seen pictures if Lily and Noah. I cannot believe how much Noah looks like you. I will always be thinking about you even though we did not really get to know each other that well. You and your family will always be in my prayers.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.
REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

When I met you 6 years ago-I never pictured our lives ending up the way they did. In so many ways it's not fair, in so many ways it still hurts so much. I miss you everyday. I remember your smile, your laugh, the way you always knew how to make me feel so incredibly special and loved. So many dates have passed-your birthday, our 5th anniversary, Fathers day/the day you were injured and in less than 2 weeks will be the second anniversary of the day you were taken from us, a day that I will not and cannot ever forget. I wish you could've seen our kids grow up-and I wish you could've held and seen Noah at least once-he's such an amazing little boy-and so is Lil and it breaks my heart because I still see how much losing you has hurt her as well. We will always love you and we will always remember you. Hugs and kisses every night!

There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about you. You are such a hero, not just to me but many others. I would give anything just to hear you laugh again...or to hear one of your "knee slapping" jokes. You were always such a character...I miss the relationship we had. It was very unique. I could talk to you about anything. I never told you this and I wish I had...I am so proud of you. I admire you more than you could know. I wish the kids could have known you better...yours and mine. You would have been a fun uncle, you were already a great Dad. I get stumped alot on life and just wish I could give you a call. You always seemed to say just what I needed to hear. Although your not here; I know you will always be with me. Thank you for being an awesome brother. I love you with all of my heart.

It's been one year now and it still feels the same-unbelievable and so incredibly lost without you. They say time heals all wounds, but I have yet to see that. In so many ways it feels worse not better-but we look to the future-to the good memories we hope to have, to living our lives to the fullest as best we can-the way you taught me to, to seeing the brighter side of things, doing what God has put us here on this earth to do-His will, waiting for the day when we will all be together again. I cannot wait for that day and I will do the best I can to live my life the way I am supposed to,the way you would want me to. We love you so much and we can't wait to be with you again. Sleep Sweet Always. xoxoxoxoxoxoxo

Dear Katy, Diane, and Jenni,
I have tried for a long time to find the words that are in my heart to express how I feel.
Katy, I am truly sorry for your loss. Tim will always be alive in your beautiful children and you.
Diane, You did a great job in raising Tim for the son and man he became. You are a special mom.
Jenni, I'm truly sorry for your loss of your brother. No one person can understand your loss unless they had a twin brother. You spent nine months together playing, sleeping, holding each other until the day arrived you two were born. There was alway a special bond that only you two could share.
Whenever I see my children, Jeremiah, Elizabeth, and Troy Meyers, I feel the loss of Tim because of the friendship they all shared. But the memories of Tim will always be there in our hearts and in our minds. Memories in a song, of the youth group at church and school and times spent baby sitting and his crazy sense of humor. And someday we will all be together again. That is Gods' promise to all of us. Tim you're our hero. I love you all.

Dear Katy,
I was looking at our tv here in Sweden .There was a tv.program called "Three wishes" and I was crying very much .
I was really tuched by everything in your story.
I just can´t imagine how it would be to loose a husband.
I live in the middle of Sweden and right now we have very much snow and 10 degrees minus.
I would be very happy if you see these words and write to me ,if you are able to ofcourse.
I say goodbye for now and I also think that out of everything bad comes something good.
Right now you very best friend are with the angels looking at you and your children and see so nothing bad is happening.

Psalm 23
1
The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
2
He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,
3
He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
5
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
6
Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
This is a verse that I have found to be comforting to me during my husbands death. Remember that when it seems that no one else is round, God is still there with you! And he will be your rock!
My daughter,McKaLyne, and I send our heartfelt sympathy for your loss! God Bless this warrior, God Bless those whom serve freedom's cause! They are our true HERO's!!!!
Also, the Moving Tribute is was beautiful! Cherish those memories forever!

Dear Katy,
As a fellow Guardian wife, my heart goes out to you. My husband, Matthew Linville, was in your husband's platoon. He still has a tough time about losing Tim. It is great to see you given a new start. All of our Guardian prayers came true for you when we saw you walk through the door of your new home. I hope that you will grace us with your presence when the unit returns. You are a strong woman Katy and I wish you all the best. God Bless you.

Katy,
I'm pretty sure that all of us fellow Gaurdians watched "Three Wishes" and what they did for you. Actually the guys wanted me to tape it and send it to Iraq so they could watch it as well. I can say that I cried the whole entire time. Tim is missed very much and I know that it is hard on our guys that he is gone. I can't even begin to imagine how hard it is on you. I'm very happy that you are able to take care of the kids and that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I don't know what you think of this but my husband wanted to know if you are planning on coming down to Killeen when the 64th returns? Well again congrats, and god bless. Saddens me to see such a young life taken in such a tragic manner. I served in this unit from 1994-2000 and even though I did not personally know PFC Timothy Hines I feel as if I lost a brother. To the family of Timothy Hines, I don't know what to say or am I going to say I know how you feel, but you are in my thoughts and prayers. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y2
