I knew Timothy while he was a 1LT at Ft Rucker.
He was assigned as one of my 2 new students.
He was a SOLID young man from day 1- credit to his parents.
I knew only a few personal things about him and only a little of his family but I can tell you without reservation that he was the best AH-64 Apache student pilot I ever trained. His ability to grasp concepts and always to be well prepared has caused him to stand out in my memory.
I was about to launch on a mission north of Baghdad in a different sector of operation the day we received the horrific news.
He was a fine young man.
A true "barrel-chested Freedom Fighter!"
Taken WAY TOO SOON.
I'm SO sorry for his family, friends and those that knew him better than I.
He is not forgotten.

I was at a charity event a few years ago and i purchased this xmas tree ornament with a fallen soldiers name on it for wounded warrior project.
Every year I put it up and write a post thanking Timothy for his service and allowing me to hang his name on my tree. It means a great deal to me and my family. I always wanted to find a way to reach out to his family so they knew his service and memory live on beyond friends and family. [email protected] is my email if you would like me to send you the ornament. It means a lot to me but might mean more to you?

You don't know me but I would like to say that I think of your son and his sacrifice every time I travel over the section of the Cherry Avenue extension that is named after your con, Captain Timothy J. Moshier. I took it upon myself to google his name this morning, considering yesterday we celebrated all veterans and the sacrifices they have made for family and country. God rest his soul. Know that he is thought of often.
Warmest regards and deepest sympathies.

To the Moshier family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you always. Timothy will never be forgotten.
For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I’m home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I’m only a civilian
And I don’t even know if it’s allowed
But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.
For those missing in action;
for those who didn’t make it home.
I know you’re in God’s presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.
I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you .

Tim
You were on my mind so vividly yesterday. Jen, Isaac, Uncle Mike and I went to the Veterans' Day Parade here in Jacksonville. Believe it or not it's one of the biggest ones in the country. We were wearing the shirts Jeremy had made for your race in 2008 - the ones with your name and Ben's (so newly gone at that time), naming you both heroes and the Gold Star pin Michelle gave each of us to commemorate Ben. A woman came up to me and hugged me and said, "Thank you for your loved one's service" and it made me cry.
We love you. We miss you. Thank you for your service and heroism.

I don't pretend to know what to say or do that would bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON (KIA on 07/06/07) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

Dear Aunt Mary Ellen, Uncle Jim, Lauren, Devin, Katie & baby Natalie,
I sit here finishing the girls FASA forms on-line for college and think I'll type Timmy's name in the computer and see what comes up. What I find is truly amazing. Then I came across this guest book and began reading some of the entries. And all of a sudden the reality of it all hits me....the shock wears off and the grief sets in, a whole month later. What can I say that hasn't already been said before me in this book except that each and everyone of you, Timmy most definitely included, has made a difference in our lives. So many wonderful memories we've had and so many more wonderful ones to be made. We love you and we're here for you all!

We did not have the joy of knowing Tim. We have heard of his heroism and sacrifice. Our son Benjamin Schuster died in Ar Ramadi Iraq on February 25 of this year of sniper fire, and we know first hand of the shock and disbelief of these moments. We know too that there are many more to come. We have been upheld by the incredible love and support that we have received, from family, friend and stranger. Your Tim sounds like another life well lived, and filled with love and joy. What a privilege to have had such a splendid young man, for however long a time! It may be difficult at first to celebrate a life when faced with such devastation, but I know you will. You can't help it when you have been given such a gift. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, and so it will remain as long as we remember Benjamin.

Dear Natalie,
I imagine one day years from now you may read this guest book and, I hope, smile to know how very many people held your father in high esteem. You are his legacy and were a source of great joy in his all too short life. Grow and flourish surrounded by the love of family and friends, knowing that a wonderful part of your father continues to live through you.
I grew up in Delmar with your grandmother Lynne and knew her mother and her grandmothers. As the next two generations in that line of smart, capable women, I know you and your mom will triumph over sadness and continue your dad's mission of making this a better world for us all to share. With love and heartfelt condolences,

I cannot think of the right words to explain how much it pains me to hear of the passing of such an amazing individual. My deepest condolences go to Tim's family and of course Katie. I must also express my grief over the fact that such a genuinely honorable and good-hearted man had to have been lost in a conflict like this.
I had the honor to serve as an Acolyte at St. Thomas with Tim, in addition to having the priveledge of calling him a friend in school. I remember from one of the first conversations I ever had with him hearing that his dream was to get in to West Point. True to his dreams Tim showed a drive and determination that never waivered, and sure enough the acceptance letter found its way into his hands. He was always the type of individual who did what he felt was the right thing to do, regardless of the circumstances, showing a moral character that should be a goal towards which we should all strive to achieve. Tempermentally I never knew him to have ever started an unnecessary confrontation, or to miss an opportunity to stand up for someone who was singled out unfairly.
I remember how happy he was when he recieved a reference letter from one of our New York senators to send with his West Point application, and how proud he was upon completion of his Eagle Scout, and how he would always volunteer for additional responsibilities around the church whenever help was needed. It truly pains me to know that the world has to say goodbye to such a truly good hearted individual.
I regret so much not having stayed in contact with him upon departure from High School, but I know that many peoples lives were brightened by his unwavering smile.
I am sad to know that someone with such a peaceful disposition had to pass in the act of fighting a war, and I pray that the loss of such an individual will never be looked back on as having been in vain.
His memory will serve as a reminder to me of the value of life and the importance of doing what is right, and I offer all of my prayers and best wishes to his family and friends that they may find a way to push on without the benefit of his smile to brighten their day.

There were alot of summers that I got to know Tim playing night games at the circle and lots of swimming at my Aunt's house. A couple of things stick out in my memories of Tim, his smile and warm heart that he always had and one of my favorite....when I beleive he was nine year old my Aunt was babysitting him and his sister, she had bought this record of crazy kid songs and on there was this song about not sticking your finger up your nose...cause your nose knows its not the place it goes, you can wiggle you can scream but I'm asking you please DON'T STICK YOUR FINGER UP YOUR NOSE!!!! Well I have never seen a kid laugh so hard I think his whole body was red from laughter....ever since that day he would come over and want to do nothing but hear that song....it was great!!!!! KAtie, I have never met you but you are in my thoughts and prayers, I know that Tim is a angel in heaven looking over you and Natalie, I am sure that all of his smiles and laughter live through that little girl, you will always have a piece of him in her!

Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I still remember all the summer nights playing kick the can with the whole "crew" from the cul-de-sac. It's so hard to believe we are all grown up now. Tim will forever be a part of my childhood memories. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

There is no greater love than to lay down your life for a friend. Thank you for giving the ultimate sacrifice that we may live in liberty.

I pray that God may comfort all of you, family and friends of CPT Moshier and that you will find the peace and strength to carry on. As a Vietnam War helicopter pilot I remember when I was younger than Timothy writing to the families of those I served with who had fallen in action. I'm quite sad to still be writing to families 40 years later. It is sad that he died so young but please be proud that he was willing to risk his life in the defense of all of us. Just wanted to let the family of Capt. Moshier know they are in my prayers. My dad is a Vietnam vet and through him my young son (age 11) is learning the value of patriotism and Never Forgetting. As the mom of a young man and a little girl, my heart goes out to Tim's parents , his wife Katie and little Natalie. No one should ever have to get the terrible news you have endured. Again, you are all in my prayers, God bless you.

We are deeply sorry for your loss. We do not know Tim or his family, but were deeply moved to see his little Natalie on the front page of today's paper. It's a sobering reminder of the true casualties of war. It's the whole family and community that grieves.

I was so saddened to hear of Tim's passing. A more loving, kind-hearted, and generally decent young man would be difficult to find. My thoughts and prayers are with the Moshier and McKee families during this time of loss. Please find comfort in the thoughts and fond memories of all of those who knew Tim.

Dear Jim, Mary Ellen , and Lauren,
I just want to say once again, how very sorry I am. I only met Tim a few times and didn't really know his personality. If he was anything like his sister or mom and dad, he must have been a great guy. Judging by the turnout at his wake and funeral, which I have NEVER seen anything like, he touched more people in 25 years than any 50 people I know. It's little wonder you guys were so proud. As I said before, he died for ALL of us and I feel proud just to have met him.
