Dearest Mrs.Baucom, jill,Amy,Scott,Chip and Andrew.I am heartbroken over your Dad passing away. I know he is at peace now.I truly adored and loved your Dad.He has a special place in my heart.
I met you all when I was in 2nd grade when we were at Loudonville elementary school. Have the best childhood memories!I always loved walking from Cherry Tree through the Greenfields to your house on Chestnut Hill. Your Dad would open the door and put a smile on my face and make me laugh with his great sense of humor.
In the early 80's he knew I was looking for a job when I would run into him at the post office. So he took his valuable time to have me stop by his office and said " I will call Pickles " as we all know that his endearing nickname for Jill and my dearest friend who has always been there for me.I will always feel fortunate that he helped me get a framing job with jill and for that I am very grateful to him. It was the best job I have ever had!!! A million thanks Mr. Baucom. As you all and He will be forever in my thought and prayers. Love you all!

I was so happy that I was able to befriend Walter at the Teresian House. I always looked forward to checking in with him and getting a smile. I hope I made his stay a little brighter. I'll miss him.

I sometimes look at my mother and wonder why she is still here. It's at those times that I can hear her voice saying "Before I go, there is someone I want you to meet".....and that's how I got to meet Walter Baucom and his family. Whenever I said hello to Walter, he would give me the biggest smile and as impossible as it may seem, his blue eyes became even more blue. For someone who supposedly couldn't speak, he was able to always tell you how special you are. I was inspired by the devotion of his family and will always treasure the times we shared with our Teresian House Family. As the daughter of a World War II vet and mother of an Iraq War vet, it is with the utmost respect that I say to you, Walter, thank you for your service to our country.
And thank you, Mommy, for making sure I got to meet Walter and his family before you go....-Shelley Malone Walsh
