Wayne Howe Obituary

Howe, Wayne
BRUNSWICK - Wayne Adams Howe, 74, of Brunswick, passed peacefully, Friday, May 16, 2025, at Samaritan Hospital, with his family by his side, following a long illness.
Born in Troy, June 1, 1950, Wayne was the son of the late Frank E. and Doris I. (Adams) Howe and, the husband of Bonnie J. (Tate) Howe.
Wayne graduated from Albany Academy, earned a BA in Health Administration from SUNY Cortland, and an MBA from RPI in Troy.
Wayne worked for several years as an administrator at Albany Med before moving to Cortland, where he was Director of Mental Health Services for Cortland County. Most recently he was a salesman, and later president of Howe Brothers Incorporated, the family's Brunswick manufacturing business. For over 45 years, he was instrumental in the growth of the company customer base and regional sales area, with his honesty and fairness, with both customers and vendors alike.
He achieved the Eagle Scout Award as a member of the Brunswick Boy Scout Troop #537. He was a great golfer, and an avid Boston Celtics and N.Y. Yankees fan. He worked hard to stay in shape and played pickup basketball at the Troy YMCA, where he was a member and on the board of directors. He coached both Brunswick CYO Basketball and Brunswick Little League Baseball teams, and for a time was on the Board of Directors of Oakwood Cemetery. In his quiet time, he loved camping his family at York Beach, Maine, and Turning Stone.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Bonnie J. Howe; two sons, J. Ben Howe and Adam S. Howe; and a brother, John "Ned" (Regina) Howe, all of Brunswick; three grandchildren, Mackenzie (Johnathan) Mainville, Hailey Howe, and Isaac Wayne Howe; two great-grandsons, Levi and Archer Mainville; a brother-in-law, Mark Tate; and a sister-in-law, Donna Tate-Smith; of Raymertown; a nephew, Thomas Spiak; three nieces, Christine Marks, Jill Foley, and Jenna Richmond; several cousins, and many longtime friends, most especially, Russ Jarem.
Calling from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the Howard B. Tate & Son Funeral Home Inc., 2237 New York Route 7, in Raymertown. A private funeral service and burial at Eagle Mills Cemetery in Brunswick will be held at the convenience of the family.

Bonnie, Ben, Adam, Ned & family, I am so sorry to hear of Wayne's passing. He was one of my favorite people. I have many fond memories working there that I will never forget & cherish forever. Wayne had a generous way about him & settled everything with a handshake, that is so rare nowadays. He had a great sense of humor and a wonderful laugh that was contagious. He truly was one of a kind. Rest in peace Wayne.

Ned Howe and Family-
I was so sad to read about Wayne´s passing. Even though I didn´t know Wayne that well, my parents were very good friends with his parents, Doris and Frank. I have so many fond memories of family get together- beach haven, the tamarac ski tow, canasta nights, your lake house and so many more. Please know that I am thinking of you at this difficult time!
