William Borger Obituary

Borger, William P.
SELKIRK - William P. "Bill" Borger, 58, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2024, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Albany, on October 17, 1965, he was the son of the late Paul Borger and Caroline Borger.
Bill had been a dedicated employee for the Town of Bethlehem for almost 36 years, most recently as Chief Plant Operator. William lived for his family and helping others, took pride in everything he did, and dedicated his life to the fire service. He was a devoted member of the Selkirk Fire Department for over 30 years, serving as past district chief, company chief, second assistant chief, and third assistant chief, before joining the Delmar Fire Department in 2015, where he served as second assistant chief. He was the president of the Town of Bethlehem Volunteer Fire Officers Association for nine years, and a recent liaison for the Town of Bethlehem, to the Albany County Fire Advisory Board.
William is survived by his devoted wife, DJ; his cherished son, Gabriel; his daughter, Alyssa; and his beloved brother, David Borger (Kristy Race). The family would also like to thank Becca Languish, for her unwavering support.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Delmar Fire Station, 145 Adams St., Delmar, N.Y. 12054, at noon, on March 30, 2024, for a Celebration of Life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions in William's memory be made to the Delmar Fire Department, 145 Adams St., Delmar, N.Y. 12054.

My most sincere and deepest sympathy goes out to William's mother and my very dear friend Caroline Borger, his devoted wife, DJ; his cherished son, Gabriel; his daughter, Alyssa; and his beloved brother, David Borger .

God Bless him and keep him close. We can reflect and give thanks for the kind of husband, Father and son that "William" was. We can also give thanks for his friendship and think about some of his virtues and character as a person. His kindness, support, dedication, to his job, Fire Department, seasonal Lawn mowing, Snowplowing to name a few with his son Gabe at his side. May he R.I.P. O God, whose mercies cannot be numbered: Accept our prayers on behalf of thy servant William Borger and grant him an entrance into the land of light and joy, in the fellowship of thy saints; through Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Nothing you love is lost. Not really. Things, people they always go away sooner or later. You can't hold them anymore than you can hold moonlight. But if they've touched you, if they're inside you, then they're still yours. The only things you ever really have are the ones you hold inside your heart.

Willliam, if we could bring you back again, For one more hour or day, We'd express all our unspoken love; We'd have countless things to say.

If we could bring you back again, We'd say we treasured you,And that your presence in our lives Meant more than we ever knew.

If we could bring you back again, To tell you what we should, You'd know how much we miss you now, And if we could, we would.

To the Family of William Borger, Caroline Borger, Mother, Wife, DJ, son Gabriel, his daughter, Alyssa; and his beloved brother, David Borger (Kristy Race). Know that I am thinking of you at this time, and keeping William in my prayers. May all the beautiful memories sustain you during this difficult time.William was a special friend as was his mother to me, who will be truly missed and may he R.I.P.

23rd. Psalm

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
