Was friends with Bill in high school. I always remember him with a laugh and a smile on his face. He was a treasure, and I will miss his Facebook posting and our Facebook conversations. Spoke to Bill a couple of time on the phone prior to his death. He was as lovely as he was in high school. You will and are missed, Bill.

I so wish I was amongst the gathering of friends of Billy Devine, a friend I spent my teenage years with. I will always cherish the time that we hung out together. Obviously a friend to many and someone who will always remembered. May he ride to Heaven on his motorcycle to influence the many souls who have been waiting for him as much as we will miss him.May he rest in peace. Thommy (Led) Grady

I am so sad to hear this news. We have been friends since high school and have many past and current memories of Bill. Always the optimist. Prayers to his wife and family. This is a tragic loss. I will miss his Facebook posts and our mutual agreement on politics. You will be missed, my old friend.

To all of Bill's Family, my sincere condolences. I had the pleasure of meeting Bill every Thursday and I looked so forward to it. He was a friend a confidant and just the best helper. Thursday night he made it a point to come back inside and walk me and my friend out to our cars.... I am so glad he did that... I will miss him so much. I hope all of your wonderful memories of him ease some of your grief. God Bless all of you.

I'm so sad to hear this news. Just recently, I'd spoken to a friend about you, Bill. Moved back to area and hoped to run into you. My kids called you The "Herb" and still remember my co-worker's friendly ways. Last time we saw you, you were with your wife and kids shopping. Years! Thank you for being so good to everyone! I worked with Bill at hale Creek for 7 years he always had the best funny sense of humor. After that I kept in touch with Bill through Facebook and I will always miss all his count downs to every season/holiday and his many funny comments. May you RIP, you will not be forgotten.

Bill and his brother Jack were a big part of my misspent youth. Their parents' home in Southgate was a refuge. Bill was a big-hearted, open presence in my life back then. RIP, my friend.

Someday, perhaps, I will get past this too. But for now, the pain, grief and anger often stop me in my tracks as I try to believe that I will not see Bill at the next social function or that he won't be stopping by the house on his bike. I'll not be getting a "Yo Robert" on Facebook chat. This will be an abiding sadness. My sincerest condolences to Jack, Ginny and Vera and family. A great heart has left us.
