William Tomaszewski Obituary

Tomaszewski, William LOUDONVILLE William E. Tomaszewski Sr., 78, died on Sunday, July 13, 2008 at Albany Memorial Hospital after a short illness. Born March, 1, 1930 in Albany, N.Y., he was the son of the late John and Catherine Em-erick Tomas-zewski. For many years, William was a partner with his uncle Roy Emerick in the Emerick & Tomaszewski Farms in Colonie. He then operated his own businesses in Kinderhook and Selkirk. He was a life member of the Shaker Road-Loudonville Fire Department, joining at the age of 18. He served the citizens of the district for over 50 years. He attended the Holy Name of Jesus Polish Church in Schenectady. Survivors include his wife, Doris Baird Tomaszewski, whom he married in June of 1969; his sons, John W. Tomaszewski of Boyton Beach, Fla., William E. (Pam) Tomaszewski Jr. of Latham; stepson, Edward J. (Rosemary) Bailey Jr. of Old Tappan, N.J.; step-daughter, Janice L. (Edward) Titus of Clermont, Fla.; a sister, Catherine (Meldon) Kelsey of Loudonville; along with many grandchildren, great-grandchil-dren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Thursday morning at 9 a.m., in the Bowen Funeral Home, 97 Old Loudon Road, Latham, where Rev. Stanley M. Bilinski Jr. will officiate. Interment will follow in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Colonie. Relatives and friends are invited to the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. for visitation. The family request that, in lieu of flowers, donations in William's name, be made to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osbourne Road, Albany, NY 12111 or the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region, 139 South Lake Avenue, Albany, NY 12208.
