Memories of your sweet personality and loving smile.

Priscilla -
Joseph's favorite story is about Zach in 3rd grade. Joseph and Zach put a sunflower seed over one of their teeth, they pretended to wiggle it and show the other boys they lost a tooth. Joseph said,"Zach always had a way to make us laugh and be silly".
One single light though brief, can touch more hearts than a longer burning flame.
May you find comfort in knowing
that your little loved one has left
a lasting impression on so many hearts.

Dear Zack,
You were my first friend - and I will always remember the fun times we had together: in Teddy Bear Day Care and Holy Spirit School, swimming and digging at Jones Beach, biking at Corning Preserve, fishing and exploring at the lake, looking at the moon and Jupiter through the big telescope, and seeing the Christmas lights at Washington Park.

Priscilla,
We are so sorry for your loss, what a loss for us as well!! Billy said to me the other night, "you know mom, Zack LOVED to play football at recess, I didn't really like to play. When the playground was open, he would want to play tag, and you know I would play tag. Not many kids turned Zack down, when he wanted to play"!! That is Billy's memory, that Zack always had kids to play with!! We will stay in touch. Zack is smiling his beautiful grin on you always!!

To Zach's family, I am sure you are all hurting in a way I can't imagine. Your boy was a really cool kid. He really knew how to have fun and make us laugh. I feel lucky to have known him. Zach's friendship with my son was such a gift and I know Joey will carry him in his heart always. Thinking of Zach and missing his earthly presence but I feel him looking down on us.

April 14, 2010

Priscilla,

There must be some very special reason why God called Zachary home to be with him. Perhaps he needed someone to liven up heaven a bit. Or maybe he knew that Zach was the baby of the family and he called him to be a big brother for some younger child that was called to heaven.

Zach was so full of life and he lived a full life. You, as his mother, were his touchstone. I can’t begin to imagine what it is you must be feeling but I do know that you are a strong person and your faith in the Lord will see you through this horrific tragedy.

I will miss Zach. I already do. But Zach will forever live in your heart. He owns a piece of it that belongs to no other.

Know that Eva and Grandma Marino are looking after him.

And, to Christopher: I watched you grow from a little boy to a man. You will forever be in my prayers that you remain strong for you and your mom.

For me, when I look up a blue/black velvet sky at night and see that one star that shines the brightest, I know it will be Zach.

God Bless.
Love you.

To Zacharys beloved family-
I am so sincerely sorry for your tragic loss. I know that you are suffering and grieving the loss of your little boy but know that you are never alone. There are so many others whose lives were touched in some way by Zack, whether it was his smile or laugh or personality, and we all feel sorrow at the loss of such a wonderful young man. But we find comfort in knowing that he is with God and all the Angels in heaven now and he is also here, in our hearts. For his love is like the wind, you can't see it but you can feel it. Always.

I absolutely cannot get Zachary out of my mind. I work for Dunkin Donuts and a wonderful woman named Diane called me on Friday to speak about what options Dunkin Donuts has to help raise money for a little boy that his peers called Zachary Duncan Donuts and she told me the story of what happened and ever since my heart has been so heavy. I want to help in any way I can to keep Zachary's memory alive....I pray that God will give the family strength, comfort and peace....God doesnt make mistakes! Sometimes we dont understand why???? When we get to heaven it will all make sense. I think Zachary is so heavy on my heart because in 2007 I lost a nephew named Zachary in an accident and our lives have been forever changed.

Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers.....I hope you will let Dunkin Donuts help keep Zachary Duncan Donuts memory alive!

Godspeed to your family!

April 6, 2010

Jeff, Priscilla, and Families,

We were so sorry to hear of your loss. May the love of family and friends carry you through your grief.

Cher & Joe Decker

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
